Abu Bakr al Shatri

وَقَالَ الَّذِينَ أَشْرَكُواْ لَوْ شَاء اللّهُ مَا عَبَدْنَا مِن دُونِهِ مِن شَيْءٍ نَّحْنُ وَلا آبَاؤُنَا وَلاَ حَرَّمْنَا مِن دُونِهِ مِن شَيْءٍ كَذَلِكَ فَعَلَ الَّذِينَ مِن قَبْلِهِمْ فَهَلْ عَلَى الرُّسُلِ إِلاَّ الْبَلاغُ الْمُبِينُ ﴿٣٥﴾
سورة النحل
(16/35) And those who associated others with Allah said: “If Allah had willed, we would not have become a servant to anything besides Allah nor our fathers (would become servants to anything but Allah). We would not have prohibited anything but (Command from) Him.” The ones before them did the same thing. Is then anything (incumbent) upon the Messengers except a plain conveying (of the Message)?
