﴿١٠﴾
سورة الـمـمـتـحنة
(60/10) O you who believe (who are âmenû)! When believing women come to you as emigrants, test them (ask their reason of emigration). Allah best knows their faith. Then if you know (ascertain) that they are believers, do not send them back to the disbelievers. They (believing women) are not lawful to the others (disbelieving men). The others (disbelieving men) are not lawful for them (believing women) either. Give them (to the disbelieving men) what they have spent (for the believing women as “Mahr”). And there will be no sin upon you to marry them if you have paid their “Mahr” (Bridal money given by the husband) to them. And do not hold to the ties of marriage of disbelieving women. And ask for what you have spent (as Mahr). And let them ask for what they have spent as well. This is the ruling of Allah. He has been ruling between you. And Allah is All-Knowing, All-Wise (Owner of Judgment).
