وَجَعَلْنَا عَلَى قُلُوبِهِمْ أَكِنَّةً أَن يَفْقَهُوهُ وَفِي آذَانِهِمْ وَقْرًا وَإِذَا ذَكَرْتَ رَبَّكَ فِي الْقُرْآنِ وَحْدَهُ وَلَّوْاْ عَلَى أَدْبَارِهِمْ نُفُورًا

سورة الإسراء
(17/46) And We have placed Ekinnet (coverings) on their hearts and a Vakra (heaviness) in their ears to prevent them from comprehending it (the Qur’ân). And when you mention your Lord Alone in the Qur’ân, they turned their backs in aversion.
