أَيَوَدُّ أَحَدُكُمْ أَن تَكُونَ لَهُ جَنَّةٌ مِّن نَّخِيلٍ وَأَعْنَابٍ تَجْرِي مِن تَحْتِهَا الأَنْهَارُ لَهُ فِيهَا مِن كُلِّ الثَّمَرَاتِ وَأَصَابَهُ الْكِبَرُ وَلَهُ ذُرِّيَّةٌ ضُعَفَاء فَأَصَابَهَا إِعْصَارٌ فِيهِ نَارٌ فَاحْتَرَقَتْ كَذَلِكَ يُبَيِّنُ اللّهُ لَكُمُ الآيَاتِ لَعَلَّكُمْ تَتَفَكَّرُونَ

(2/266) Would any one of you like to have a garden of palm-trees and vines, with rivers flowing beneath it, with all kinds of fruit for him therein, and old age had stricken him and he has weak offspring (to support) and a whirlwind with fire strikes it and it is (all) consumed by fire? Thus Allah makes plain the Verses to you, so that you may perhaps reflect.
