(11/6) And there is no moving creature in the earth but on Allah is the sustenance of it, and He knows its place of dwelling and its depository. All is in Kitab-ı Mübîn (a Clear Book). (11/7) And He it is Who has created the heavens and the earth in six Days (Periods) to see which of you is best in deed. And His Throne was on the water. If you were to tell them: “You shall indeed be raised up to life after death”, those who disbelieve would certainly say: “This is nothing but obvious magic”. (11/8) And if We delay the torment for them till a determined term, they are sure to say: “What prevents it”? On the day when it will come to them, it shall not be averted from them, shall it? They are enveloped by what they used to ridicule. (11/9) And if We make man taste Mercy from Us, then take it off from him, most surely he is despairing, ungrateful. (11/10) And if We make him taste a blessing after poverty has touched him, he is sure to say: “The evils are gone away from me”. Surely, he is exultant, boasting. (11/11) Except those who are patient and do improving deed (that cleanses the soul’s heart). For them will be forgiveness (the changing of the evil deeds into merits) and a Great Reward (a Great Wage). (11/12) Then, it may be that you will give up part of what is revealed to you and your heart will become straitened by it because they say: “Why has not a treasure been sent down upon him or an angel has come with him”? But you are only a Warner; and Allah is a Surrogate over all things. (11/13) Or, do they say: “He has forged it”? Say: “Then bring ten forged Sûrahs like it, and call upon whom you have power besides Allah, if you are truthful”. (11/14) If then they can not answer you, then know that it is sent down with the Knowledge of Allah and that there is no god but He. Have you then become a Muslim (entered into Islam)? (11/15) Whoever desires the life of the world and its finery, We pay them in full their deeds therein, and they therein will not be deprived. (11/16) These are they for whom there is nothing but Fire in the Hereafter, and vain are the deeds they did therein (in life). And (all) that they do is fruitless. (11/17) Is he then who is upon a clear proof from his Lord, and a witness from Him recites it that before it (was) the Book of Moses, as an Imam (Guide) and a Mercy? That’s them who believe in it. And whoever of the parties disbelieves in it, and therefore their promised place will be the Fire (are upon a clear proof from his Lord?). So be not in doubt about it. Because it is the truth from your Lord. But most men do not believe. (11/18) And who is more unjust than he who forges a lie against Allah? Those will be presented before their Lord. And the witnesses shall say: “These are they who lied against their Lord. Is not the Curse of Allah on the wrong-doers (Zâlimûn)”? (11/19) They avert from the Way of Allah (as they hinder the person’s spirit leaving the physical body and getting on the Sıratı Mustakîm, by hindering the person from reaching a Murshid). And seek to make it (the spirit’s reaching Allah before death) crooked (they desire to keep it away from its real concept). They are the ones who deny Hereafter (the spirit’s reaching Allah before death). (11/20) Such are not able to incapacitate (Allah) on earth nor did they have besides Allah any friends. The torment will be multiplied for them. They could not bear to hear (their faculties of hearing did not function) and they could not see (their faculties of seeing did not function). (11/21) These are they who have caused their souls to fall into Loss, and what they forged is gone from them. (11/22) Truly in the Hereafter they will undergo the greatest loss. (11/23) Surely those who believe (who wish to reach Allah before death) and do improving deeds (that cleanse the souls’ hearts) and humble themselves before their Lord [those into the souls’ hearts of whom Ihbat (a divine computerized system that makes the understanding possible, agreeing and obedient to Allah) is placed], these are the owners of Heaven, in it they will abide forever. (11/24) The likeness of the two parties is as the blind and the deaf and the seeing (their faculties of seeing functions) and the hearing (their faculties of hearing functions). Are they equal when compared? Will you not then deliberate? (11/25) And certainly We sent Noah to his people (and he said to them): “Surely I am a plain Warner for you”. (11/26) That you be servants to nothing but Allah. Surely I fear that a painful torment should be upon you. (11/27) Then the elites of those who disbelieved from among his people said: “We do not consider you but a mortal like ourselves and we do not see any have followed (depended on) you but those who are the lowest (poorest, weakest, most helpless) of us. And we do not see in you any excellence over us; rather, we deem you liars”. (11/28) He said: “Is this your opinion? If I am upon a clear proof from my Lord and He has given me Mercy from Himself and it has been made obscure to you, shall we compel you to it while you are averse from it”? (11/29) And O my people! I do not ask of you any wealth for it (what I convey). If any, then my reward (wage) is only on Allah. And I am not going to drive away those who believe (who are âmenû, who wish to reach Allah before death). Surely they shall reach their Lord. And but I consider you a people who are ignorant. (11/30) O my people! Who will help me against Allah, if I drive them away? Will you not then deliberate? (11/31) And I do not say to you that with me are the Treasures of Allah, nor that I know the Unseen, nor do I say I am an angel. And I do not say of those whom your eyes look down upon (those who wish to reach Allah before death) that Allah will never give them any good. Allah knows best what is in their souls. For then (if I do not tell the truth) most surely I should be of the wrong-doers. (11/32) They said: “O Noah! Indeed you have disputed with us and you have gone too far in the dispute with us, therefore bring to us what you threaten us with, if you are of the truthful ones”. (11/33) He said: “Allah only will bring it to you if He wills. And you will not be able to incapacitate (Allah)”. (11/34) And my advice will not profit you, even if I wish to give you good counsel, if Allah has decided that you should go astray. He is your Lord and to Him shall you be returned. (11/35) Or do they say: “He has forged it”? Say: “If I have forged it, on me is my guilt. And I am clear of the crimes that you commit”. (11/36) And it was revealed to Noah: “None of your people will believe except those who have already believed (who have become âmenû, who have wished to reach Allah before death). Do not be distressed because of what they do”. (11/37) Build the Ark under Our guidance and with Our Revelation! And do not plead with Me in respect of those who are unjust. Surely they are the ones who shall be drowned. (11/38) And as he was building the Ark, whenever the elites of his people passed by him, they mocked at him. He said: “If you mock at us, surely we too mock at you as you mock”. (11/39) So shall you know who it is on whom will come a torment which will disgrace him. And on whom will a lasting torment come down. (11/40) When Our Command came and the Tennur boiled. We said: “Carry in it two of all things, a pair (of male and female) and your family-except those against whom the Word has already gone forth and those who believe”. And none believed (became âmenû) with him except a few. (11/41) Embark in it. In the Name of Allah is its sailing and its anchoring. Most surely my Lord is Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful. (11/42) So it (the ship) sailed with them amidst waves like mountains and Noah called out to his son, and he was aloof: “O my son! Embark with us and be not with the disbelievers”. (11/43) (He) said: “I shall seek refuge in a mountain, which will protect me from the water”. Noah said: “There is no protector today from the Decree of Allah except those on whom He has mercy”. And a wave intervened between them, so he was of the drowned. (11/44) And it was said: “O earth! Swallow up your water, and O sky! Withhold (your rain)”. And the water was made to subside and the Decree of Allah was fulfilled. And (the Ark) rested on the Jûdî and it was said onto wrongdoers: “Away with the wrongdoing people”! (11/45) And Noah called out to his Lord and then said: “My Lord! Surely my son is of my family and Your promise is surely true, and You are the Most Just of the judges”. (11/46) (Allah) said: “O Noah! Surely, he is not of your family. Surely his work was other than righteous. Therefore do not ask of Me that of which you have no knowledge! Surely I admonish you lest you may be of the ignorant”. (11/47) (Noah) said: “My Lord! I seek refuge with you from asking You that of which I have no knowledge. And unless you forgive me and have Mercy on me, I will indeed be of the losers”. (11/48) It was said: “Noah! Disembark in security and blessings from Us! And (some) nations (that will spring), We will give them provisions. Then a painful torment will touch them from Us”. (11/49) These are of the narratives of the Unseen which We reveal to you. Neither you nor your people knew it before this. So be patient, surely, the (good) end is for the owners of piety (Al-Muttaqûn). (11/50) And to Âd their brother Hûd said: “O my people! Be servants to Allah. You have no god other than He. You are nothing but forgers (of lies)”. (11/51) O my people! I do not ask of you any wage (reward) for it. My wage if there is any is only with Him Who created me. Do you still not understand? (11/52) And, O my people! Ask forgiveness of your Lord. Then turn to Him in repentance (repent before your religious guide and start doing His remembrance - Dhikir). He will send you (from the sky) abundant rain (Mercy), and add strength to your strength. And do not turn your faces away as criminals (guilty). (11/53) They said: “O Hûd! You have not brought to us any clear proof (miracle) and we are not going to desert our gods for your sayings, and we are not believers in you”. (11/54) All that we say is that some of our gods have punished you terribly. (Hûd) said: “Surely I call Allah to witness. And you bear witness too, that I am surely clear of what you associate (with Allah)”! (11/55) Besides Him, therefore scheme against me all together (with your so-called gods), then give me no respite. (11/56) Surely I put my trust in Allah, my Lord and your Lord. There is no moving creature but He holds it by its forelock. Surely my Lord is upon Sıratı Mustakîm (He controls Sıratı Mustakîm). (11/57) So if you turn away (your faces), then indeed I have conveyed the Message (revelation, the book) with which I have been sent to you. And my Lord will bring another people to replace you. And you can not harm Him in the least. Surely, my Lord is the Preserver of all things. (11/58) And when Our Commandment came, We delivered Hûd and those who believed (became âmenû, who wished to reach Allah before death) with him with a Mercy from Us. And We delivered them from a severe (harsh) torment. (11/59) The Âd people denied the Verses of their Lord knowingly and rebelled against His Messengers and followed the command of every obstinate tyrant. (11/60) And they were pursued by a Curse in this world and on the Day of Resurrection. And people of Âd disbelieved in their Lord, did they not? The people of Hûd, Âd remained far away (from the Mercy of Allah), did they not? (11/61) And to Thamûd people their brother Sâlih said: “O my people! Be servants to Allah. You have no god other than He. It is He Who created you from the earth and made you dwell in it. Therefore ask forgiveness of Him, then turn to Him (in repentance). Surely, my Lord is Near, Responsive (to prayers)”. (11/62) They said: “O Sâlih! Surely you were one amongst us in whom great expectations were placed before this. Do you now forbid us from worshipping what our fathers worshipped? As to which you call us to, most surely we are decisively in hesitation about this suspicious thing”. (11/63) Sâlih said: “O my people! Is this your opinion (even) if I am upon a clear argument (proof) from my Lord and He has given (granted) to me Mercy from Himself? Who will then help me against Allah if I rebel against (disobey) Him? Therefore you do not add to me other than Loss”. (11/64) And O my people! This is a she-camel of Allah is a Sign (a miracle) for you. So let her go to feed on Allah’s earth. And do not touch her with evil, for then a near torment overtakes you. (11/65) But they hamstrung her. Then (Sâlih) said: “Enjoy yourselves in your homes for three (more) days. That is a promise not to be belied”. (11/66) So when Our Commandment came, We delivered Sâlih and those who believed (who wished to reach Allah before death, who became âmenû) with him and also from the disgrace of that Day of Permission. Indeed, your Lord is the Most Powerful, the Most Exalted in Might. (11/67) And an awful sound wave overtook (destroyed) those who were unjust. So they remained kneeling down in their homes. (11/68) As if they had never dwelt (lived) there. Surely Thamoud disbelieved in their Lord, did they not? The people of Thamoud remained far away (from Allah), did not they? (11/69) And certainly Our Messengers came to Abraham with glad tidings. They said: “Peace”. “Peace”, said he, and he made no delay in bringing a roasted calf. (11/70) But when he saw that their hands were not extended towards it, he deemed them strange and conceived a fear of them. They said: “Do not fear, surely we are sent to the people of Lot (Lût)”. (11/71) And his wife who was standing up smiled. Then We gave her the glad tidings of Isaac (Ishâq), and after Isaac, of Jacob (Ya’kûb). (11/72) (She) said: “Shall I bear a child when I am an extremely old woman? And this is my husband who is an extremely old man too. Most surely this is a surprising thing”. (11/73) (Angels) said: “Are you surprised at Allah’s Commandment? The Mercy of Allah and His abundance are on you, O people of the house. Surely He is All-Praiseworthy, All-Glorious”. (11/74) So when the fear had gone away from Abraham and the glad tidings had come to him, he began to plead with Us for Lot’s people. (11/75) Most surely Abraham, without doubt, was a gentle, tender-hearted, turned to Allah. (11/76) O Abraham! Leave off this! Surely the Commandment has come. And surely there must come to them a torment that cannot be averted. (11/77) And when Our Messengers came to Lot (Lût) he was grieved for them, and felt himself straitened, panicked. And said: “This is a hard (distressful) day”. (11/78) And his people came rushing towards him. Aforetime they used to do evil deeds. (He) said: “O my people! These are my daughters. They are cleaner for you. So have piety towards Allah (feel your responsibility towards Allah). And do not humiliate me in front of my guests. Is there not among you a man leading to Irshad (the Spiritual maturity)”? (11/79) (They) said: “Certainly you know that we have no right (desire) on your daughters. And most surely you know what we desire (ask for)”. (11/80) (Lot) said: “If only I had against you some power or could take refuge in a strong support”. (11/81) (The Messengers) said: “O Lot! We are the Messengers of your Lord. They shall by no means reach you! So leave with your family in a part of the night except your wife. Let not any of you look back, for surely whatsoever befalls them shall befall her too. Surely their appointed time is the morning; is not the morning near”? (11/82) So when Our Commandment came, We turned (that city) upside down (We caused it to move up and down), rained on them stones of baked clay, in a well-arranged manner one after another. (11/83) Marked from your Lord and it is not far off from the wrong-doers. (11/84) And to the Madyan (Midian) people their brother Shu’aib said: “O my people! Be servants to Allah, you have no god other than He. Do not give short measure and weight. Surely I see you in prosperity and surely I fear for you the torment of an all-encompassing day”. (11/85) And, O my People! Give full measure and weight in justice! Do not defraud the men their things (rights), and do not act corruptly in the land, making mischief. (11/86) The remainder of Allah (the profit that the commerce brings, the lawful profit) is better for you if you are believers. And I am not a guardian over you. (11/87) They said: “O Shu’aib! Does your prayer command you that we should forsake what our fathers worshipped or that we should not do what we please with regard to our property? Truly, you are gentle, the mature one (the one who reached to the Spiritual maturity-Irshad)”. (11/88) (Shu’aib) said: “Is this your opinion even if I am upon a clear proof from my Lord and He has given me a goodly sustenance from Himself? I do not intend to oppose you in that which I have forbidden you. I desire nothing but ameliorate so far as I am able. And my success can only come from Allah. Upon him I have relied, and to Him I turned to”. (11/89) O my people! Let not your opposition to me cause you to be struck by a calamity that is similar to what struck the people of Noah or the people of Hud or the people of Salih! And the people of Lot (Lût) are not far off from you. (11/90) And ask forgiveness of your Lord, then turn to Him in repentance (before the Messenger or the saint guide). Surely my Lord is Most Merciful (the One who sends the Light of Mercy), Most Loving. (11/91) They said: “O Shu’aib! We did not understand much of what you said! And most surely we see you to be weak among us, and were it not for your supporters, we would surely stone you. And you are not mighty against us”. (11/92) O my people! Is then the group that supports me more esteemed by you than Allah? And you have forgotten (neglected) Him as a thing cast behind your back. Surely my Lord encompasses all that you do. (11/93) O my people! Do whatever you may! Surely I am too. You are going to know to whom will come a punishment that will disgrace him and who is a liar. And watch, surely I too am watching with you. (11/94) And when Our Commandment came, We delivered Shu’aib and those who believed (became âmenû) with him by a Mercy from Us. The rumbling (awful Cry, a terrific sound wave) overtook those who were wrong-doers. So they remained kneeling down in their land. (11/95) It was as if no one had ever lived there! Were not the people of Madyan (Midian) taken away (from the Mercy of Allah) as the people of Thamûd (were taken away from the Mercy of Allah). (11/96) And certainly We sent Moses with Our Verses and a clear Sultan. (11/97) To Pharaoh and his elites (We sent Moses - per previous verse), but they followed the command of Pharaoh. And the command of Pharaoh was not right-directing to Irshad (the immaterial maturity). (11/98) (Pharaoh) will lead his people on the Day of Resurrection, and bring them to the Fire; and evil indeed is the place to which they are brought. (11/99) And they were pursued by a curse in there on the Day of Resurrection. Wretched is the gift which is given. (11/100) That is some of the news of the towns which We relate to you. Of them, some are standing (have traces) and some are a harvest (has no trace). (11/101) And We did not wrong them, and but they wronged themselves. So their gods whom they called upon besides Allah profited them nothing when the Command of your Lord came. And they added to them nothing but destruction. (11/102) Such is the Seizure of your Lord when He seizes the towns while they are doing wrong. Verily, His Seizure is painful, severe. (11/103) Surely in this is a Sign for those who fear the torment of the Hereafter. This is the Day on which the people shall be gathered together and this is the Day of witnessing. (11/104) And We do not delay it (the Day) but for a term fixed. (11/105) When that Day comes, no one can speak except by His leave. Then some of them are ‘Shâkî’ (unhappy) some of them are ‘Said’ (happy). (11/106) So as to those who are Shâkî (unhappy), they shall be in the Fire. For them therein is difficult exhaling and inhaling (moaning loudly). (11/107) They will dwell therein for all the time that the heavens and the earth (of Hell) endure, except as your Lord wills (to annihilate Hell). Verily, your Lord is the Doer of whatsoever He wills. (11/108) But as to those who are happy, they shall be in Heaven abiding in it as long as the heavens and the earth (of Heaven) endure, except as your Lord wills (to annihilate Heaven). (11/109) Therefore be not in doubt as to what they worship. They do not worship but as their fathers worshipped before. And most surely We pay their portion in full, undiminished. (11/110) And certainly We gave the Book to Moses but it came under disagreement. If a Word had not gone forth from your Lord (that the Account will be on the Day of Judgment), the matter would surely have been judged between them. Surely they are in a disquieting doubt about it (the Quran). (11/111) And your Lord will most surely pay for all their deeds in full. Surely He is All-Aware of what they do (their deeds). (11/112) Be then on the right direction as you are commanded, as also those who have turned in repentance having depended on you. And be not inordinate (exceed the limit). Surely He is All-Seeing of what you do. (11/113) And do not incline to those who do wrong. Otherwise the Fire should touch you. You have no friend other than Allah. Later you shall not be helped. (11/114) Keep up the prayer in the two parts of the day and when the night approaches the day. Surely good deeds take away evil deeds. This is an admonition for those who remember (repeat the Name of Allah saying Allah, Allah one after another). (11/115) And be patient; verily Allah does not waste the reward (wage) of the good-doers (Muhsinîn). (11/116) But why were there not among the generations before you the owners of the Reminder [those who have forbidden Al-Munkar (all that Islam has forbidden) and enjoin Al-Ma’rûf (all that Islam has ordained during centuries)], who should have forbidden the making of mischief in the earth, except a few of those whom We delivered from among them? But those who wronged pursued what luxury they were given therein, and they became criminals (guilty). (11/117) And your Lord would never destroy the towns wrongfully, while their people were improvers (of souls). (11/118) And if your Lord had willed, He would certainly have made mankind a single nation. Yet they shall continue to differ. (11/119) Except those on whom your Lord has mercy; (those to whom He has sent His Light of Mercy by manifesting Himself with the Name of Most Merciful and those who have not differed as they have wished to reach Allah before death) and for this did He create them (to differentiate them). The Word of your Lord is fulfilled: “Certainly I will fill Hell with the jinn and the men, all together”. (11/120) And all that We relate to you are of the news of the Messengers. We strengthen your heart (the faculty of understanding what is beyond the physical world) with them. And in this (in these news) has come to you the truth and an admonition, and a reminder for the believers. (11/121) And say to those who do not believe: “(Continue to) do whatever you have been doing. Surely we too are the doers”. (11/122) And wait! Surely we are waiting too. (11/123) And Allah’s is the Unseen of the heavens and the earth and to Him return all affairs. So be a servant to Him and put your trust in Him. Your Lord is not unaware of what you do.

Yusuf
(12/1) Alif-Lâm-Râ. These are the Verses of the Clear (explained) Book. (12/2) Verily, We have sent it down as an Arabic Qur’ân in order that you may be mindful. (12/3) We narrate to you the best of the narratives by Our revealing to you this Qur’ân. And though before this you were certainly one of the heedless. (12/4) Joseph had said to his father: “O my father! Surely I saw eleven stars and the sun and the moon. I saw them prostrating themselves to me.” (12/5) (His father) said: “O my (dear) little son! Do not relate your dream to your brothers! Then (if you relate) they should plot against you. Surely Satan is an open enemy to man.” (12/6) And thus will your Lord choose you and teach you the interpretation of sayings (events) and make His Blessing complete to you and to the children of Jacob, as He made it complete before to your fathers, Abraham and Isaac. Surely your Lord is All-Knowing, All-Wise. (12/7) Certainly in Joseph and his brothers there are Verses (lessons) for the inquirers. (12/8) When they said: “Certainly Joseph (Yûsuf) and his brother are dearer to our father than we. Though we are a group. Most surely our father is in manifest error”. (12/9) Kill Joseph or cast him out in some place so that your father’s face may be a friend for you (let the affection of your father be exclusively for you). And after that you may become improved people. (12/10) A speaker from among them said: “Do not kill Joseph. Cast him down into the bottom of a well if you must do something. Some of the travelers should pick him up.” (12/11) They said: “O our father! Why do you not trust us with Joseph? And most surely we are his sincere well-wishers.” (12/12) Send him with us tomorrow he may eat well and play. And surely we will guard him well. (12/13) (Their Father) said: “Surely it grieves me that you should take him off, and I fear lest the wolf devour him while you are heedless of him.” (12/14) They said: “Surely if the wolf should devour him, while we are a strong group, then surely, we are the losers.” (12/15) So when they had gone off with him and agreed that they should put him down at the bottom of the well We revealed to him (Joseph): “You will most certainly inform them of their affair while they do not perceive.” (12/16) And they came to their father at nightfall weeping. (12/17) They said: “O our father! We went off racing and left Joseph by our belongings. Right then the wolf devoured him. You will not believe us though we are truthful.” (12/18) And they brought his shirt with false blood upon it. (Their Father) said: “No. Your souls have tempted you to do something. After this (what I need to do) is good patience. Allah is the (only) one to seek for help against that which you describe.” (12/19) And there came a caravan (travelers). They sent their water-drawer and he let down his bucket (into the well). He said: “O good news! This is a youth.” They concealed him as an article of merchandise. And Allah is All-Knowing of what they do. (12/20) And they sold him for a low price, for a few silver coins, because they attached no value to him. (12/21) And the one who bought him in Egypt said to his wife: “Make his stay comfortable. Maybe he will be useful to us, or we may adopt him as a son.” And thus did We placed Joseph in the land and that We might teach him the interpretation of sayings (events). And Allah is the Winner over His Command, and but most people do not know. (12/22) And when he (Joseph) had attained his full manhood (puberty) We gave him judgment (wisdom) and knowledge. This is how We reward the doers of good (Muhsinîn). (12/23) The woman, in whose house he (Joseph) was, sought to seduce him. She closed the doors tightly and said: “Come on, you.” He said: “I take refuge in Allah. He is my Lord. He made good my abode. Surely, the wrong-doers cannot have Salvation.” (12/24) And she surely desired him and he himself would have desired her, were it not that he had seen the manifest evidence of his Lord. This is how We turn away from him the evil and indecency. Surely he is one of our servants utterly purified (Muhlesîn). (12/25) So they both raced to the door. (She) tore his shirt from the back and they met her husband at the door. (She) said: “What is the punishment of one who intends evil to your family except imprisonment or a painful torment?” (12/26) (Joseph) said: “It was she who sought to seduce me. A witness of her own household bore witness. If his shirt is torn from the front, she speaks the truth and he is one of the liars.” (12/27) And if his shirt is torn from the back, she tells a lie and he is one of the truthful. (12/28) So when (her husband) saw his shirt torn from the back, he said: “Surely it is a plot of you women! Assuredly, your plot is great.” (12/29) Joseph, turn aside from this. And you (woman) ask forgiveness for your sin. Surely you are one of the deliberate wrong-doers. (12/30) And women in the city said: “The wife of Al-Azîz (vizier) seeks her slave to yield himself to her. Surely the love has penetrated into her heart. Most surely we see her in manifest error.” (12/31) When she heard of their sly talk, she sent for them (an invite) and prepared for them places to sit down face to face. She gave each of them a knife (to peel the fruits) and said (to Joseph): “Come forth to them!” So when they saw him, they admired him and cut their hands. And they said: “Allah, preserve us! This is not a human; this is but a noble angel.” (12/32) (She) said: “This is he whom you did blame me! Certainly I sought his yielding himself (wanted to take advantage of his soul). But he abstained firmly. And if he does not do what I order him, he shall certainly be cast into prison and be of the most humiliated ones.” (12/33) (He) said: “My Lord! Prison is dearer to me than that to which they invite me. Unless you turn away their plot from me, I will feel inclined towards them and become of the ignorant.” (12/34) Then his Lord answered him. So turned away from him their plot. Verily, He is the All-Hearing, the All-Knowing. (12/35) Later it seemed suitable for them after they had seen the evidences that it was best to imprison him till a time. (12/36) And two young men also entered the prison with him. One of them said: “I see myself (in a dream) pressing grapes.” And the other (also) said: “I see myself carrying bread on my head, of which the birds were eating. Inform us of its interpretation. Surely we see you to be of the doers of good (Muhsinîn). (12/37) Joseph said: "You will not receive food that is provided to you except that I will inform you of its interpretation before it comes to you. These two are what my Lord has taught me. Surely I have forsaken the religion of a people who do not believe in Allah, and they deny their hereafter (having their spirits reach Allah before death).” (12/38) And I have depended on the Religion of my forefathers, Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. It does not beseem us that we should associate anything with Allah as a partner. This is the Virtue of Allah upon us and upon mankind. But most people are not grateful. (12/39) O my mates of the prison! Are many different lords better, or Allah, the One, the Kahhar (the Overwhelming, the Overpowering, the Supreme)? (12/40) What you have been serving besides Him are nothing but you and your fathers have named (idols) that Allah has not sent down any proof for them. Judgment however is only Allah’s. He has commanded that you worship none but Him. This is the lasting religion (that will last from Adam up to the Day of Resurrection) but most people do not know. (12/41) O my mates of the prison! As for one of you, he shall give his lord to drink wine, but the other shall be crucified, so that the birds shall eat from his head. The matter is decreed concerning which you inquired. (12/42) And he said to the one whom he knew to be delivered of the two: “Mention me to your master.” But Satan caused him to forget mentioning it to his master. So he remained in the prison a few years. (12/43) And the king said: “I see seven fat cows which seven lean ones devoured and also seven green spikes (of grain) and seven others dry. O elite ones (of the nation)! Tell me the interpretation of my dream, if you are the interpreters.” (12/44) (They) said: “Mixed up confusing dreams and we are not the knower of the interpretation of (such) dreams.” (12/45) And of the two who had found deliverance remembered (what he had forgotten) and said: “I will inform you of its interpretation soon, so let me go immediately.” (12/46) Joseph! O Sıddîk (truthful one)! Explain to us seven fat cows which seven lean ones devoured; and the seven green spikes (of grain) and the others which were dry. I hope I may return to my people, so that they may know (you and the interpretation of the dream). (12/47) He said: “You shall plant, as usual, for seven years continuously. Then what you harvest leave in its spikes, except a little from which you will eat.” (12/48) After awhile there shall come seven years of hardship (famine) which shall consume what you saved for them, except a little from which you shall store. (12/49) Then there will come after that a year in which people will have abundant crop and in which they will press fruits. (12/50) And the king said: “Bring him to me.” So when the Rasul (messenger) came to him, Joseph said: “Go back to your master and ask him, what the case of the women who cut their hands is. Surely my Lord knows their plot the best.” (12/51) (The king) said: “What was your affair when you sought Joseph to yield himself (to you)?” They (the women) said: “Allah forbid, we knew of no evil on his part.” The wife of Al-Azîz said: “Now the truth has become manifest (while it was hidden); it was I who sought him to yield himself (to me), and he is surely of the truthful.” (12/52) (Joseph said to the messenger): “This is that he (my master) might know that I did not betray him in his absence and that Allah does not cause the plot of the betrayers to succeed.”
