وَقَالُوا قُلُوبُنَا فِي أَكِنَّةٍ مِّمَّا تَدْعُونَا إِلَيْهِ وَفِي آذَانِنَا وَقْرٌ وَمِن بَيْنِنَا وَبَيْنِكَ حِجَابٌ فَاعْمَلْ إِنَّنَا عَامِلُونَ

سورة فصّلت
(41/5) And they said: “Our hearts are under coverings (to prevent us from comprehension) from that, to which you call us, and there is heaviness in our ears, and a veil hangs between us and you. So do (whatever you want)! We too are the ones who will do whatever we want”.
