وَأَمَّا ثَمُودُ فَهَدَيْنَاهُمْ فَاسْتَحَبُّوا الْعَمَى عَلَى الْهُدَى فَأَخَذَتْهُمْ صَاعِقَةُ الْعَذَابِ الْهُونِ بِمَا كَانُوا يَكْسِبُونَ

سورة فصّلت
(41/17) And as to (people of) Thamûd, We have then delivered them to Hidayet. Yet, they preferred blindness towards Hidayet. Therefore a thunderbolt of an abasing torment seized them because of what they used to earn.
