وَعَلَى الثَّلاَثَةِ الَّذِينَ خُلِّفُواْ حَتَّى إِذَا ضَاقَتْ عَلَيْهِمُ الأَرْضُ بِمَا رَحُبَتْ وَضَاقَتْ عَلَيْهِمْ أَنفُسُهُمْ وَظَنُّواْ أَن لاَّ مَلْجَأَ مِنَ اللّهِ إِلاَّ إِلَيْهِ ثُمَّ تَابَ عَلَيْهِمْ لِيَتُوبُواْ إِنَّ اللّهَ هُوَ التَّوَّابُ الرَّحِيمُ ﴿١١٨﴾
سورة التوبة
(9/118) And the three (per verse 106 - those who stayed behind from war and whose decree was postponed) who were left behind (He accepted their repentance as well). The earth became strait to them in spite of its spaciousness and their souls were also straitened to them. They knew it for certain that there was no refuge but Allah. Then He accepted their repentance that they might redeem their spirits back to Allah again. Surely Allah is the Accepter of repentance, the Most Merciful (the One Who sends the Light of Mercy).
