وَإِنْ خِفْتُمْ أَلاَّ تُقْسِطُواْ فِي الْيَتَامَى فَانكِحُواْ مَا طَابَ لَكُم مِّنَ النِّسَاء مَثْنَى وَثُلاَثَ وَرُبَاعَ فَإِنْ خِفْتُمْ أَلاَّ تَعْدِلُواْ فَوَاحِدَةً أَوْ مَا مَلَكَتْ أَيْمَانُكُمْ ذَلِكَ أَدْنَى أَلاَّ تَعُولُواْ

(4/3) And if you fear that you shall not be able to deal justly with the orphans, then marry two, three, four (other permissible) women that you like; but if you fear that you will not do justice (between them), then be pleased with (concubines) what you have with you. That is more appropriate for you not to part from justice.
