وَلَوْ أَنَّهُمْ أَقَامُواْ التَّوْرَاةَ وَالإِنجِيلَ وَمَا أُنزِلَ إِلَيهِم مِّن رَّبِّهِمْ لأكَلُواْ مِن فَوْقِهِمْ وَمِن تَحْتِ أَرْجُلِهِم مِّنْهُمْ أُمَّةٌ مُّقْتَصِدَةٌ وَكَثِيرٌ مِّنْهُمْ سَاء مَا يَعْمَلُونَ

سورة المائدة
(5/66) And if the People of the Book had kept up (fulfilled) the Torah and the Gospel and that which has been sent down to them from their Lord they would certainly have eaten (many Blessings) from above them and from beneath their feet. There is a party of them who are Muktesid (keeping to the moderate course) (who have attained to the rank of sainthood, friendship of Allah, but not to the continuous “zikîr” - repetition of the Name of Allah). And (but) evil is that which most of them do.
