ثُمَّ بَدَّلْنَا مَكَانَ السَّيِّئَةِ الْحَسَنَةَ حَتَّى عَفَواْ وَّقَالُواْ قَدْ مَسَّ آبَاءنَا الضَّرَّاء وَالسَّرَّاء فَأَخَذْنَاهُم بَغْتَةً وَهُمْ لاَ يَشْعُرُونَ

سورة الأعراف
(7/95) Then We changed the evil for the good. When they increased in number and in wealth they said: “Severe efficiency and abundance also touched Our fathers (they did not think it was from Allah and did not learn a lesson)”. So We seized them suddenly while they were unaware (when they were conscious of it).
