قُل لِلَّذِينَ كَفَرُواْ إِن يَنتَهُواْ يُغَفَرْ لَهُم مَّا قَدْ سَلَفَ وَإِنْ يَعُودُواْ فَقَدْ مَضَتْ سُنَّةُ الأَوَّلِينِ

سورة الأنفال
(8/38) Say to those who disbelieve: “If you desist, that which is past shall be forgiven”. And if they return (to disbelief and enmity) then what happened to the ancients has already passed takes place for them (the Divine Law will be carried out for them just like it was carried out for the nations which had passed).
