وَمِنْهُم مَّن يَسْتَمِعُ إِلَيْكَ وَجَعَلْنَا عَلَى قُلُوبِهِمْ أَكِنَّةً أَن يَفْقَهُوهُ وَفِي آذَانِهِمْ وَقْرًا وَإِن يَرَوْاْ كُلَّ آيَةٍ لاَّ يُؤْمِنُواْ بِهَا حَتَّى إِذَا جَآؤُوكَ يُجَادِلُونَكَ يَقُولُ الَّذِينَ كَفَرُواْ إِنْ هَذَآ إِلاَّ أَسَاطِيرُ الأَوَّلِينَ

(6/25) And amongst them whoever listens to you; We have put veils over their hearts lest they understand it (for them not to understand) and there is heaviness in their ears. And even if they see every verse they do not believe in it. Even when they come to you they argue (struggle) with you. Those who disbelieve say: “This is nothing else than the tales of the ancients.
