مِنَ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ رِجَالٌ صَدَقُوا مَا عَاهَدُوا اللَّهَ عَلَيْهِ فَمِنْهُم مَّن قَضَى نَحْبَهُ وَمِنْهُم مَّن يَنتَظِرُ وَمَا بَدَّلُوا تَبْدِيلًا

سورة الأحزاب
(33/23) Of the believers are men who were true to the covenant which they made with Allah (to remain loyal to their promise given to Allah that they would remain patient until they would become martyrs). So some of them accomplished their covenant (died a martyr), and some of them are waiting (being a martyr) and they have not changed (anything from their covenants) in the least.
