وَإِذْ قَالَت طَّائِفَةٌ مِّنْهُمْ يَا أَهْلَ يَثْرِبَ لَا مُقَامَ لَكُمْ فَارْجِعُوا وَيَسْتَأْذِنُ فَرِيقٌ مِّنْهُمُ النَّبِيَّ يَقُولُونَ إِنَّ بُيُوتَنَا عَوْرَةٌ وَمَا هِيَ بِعَوْرَةٍ إِن يُرِيدُونَ إِلَّا فِرَارًا

(33/13) And a party of them said: “O people of Yathrib (Al-Madinah)! There is no place to stand for you (here), therefore turn back”! And (another) party of them was asking permission of the Prophet, saying: “Surely our houses are without protection”. And they were not without protection but they were just wishing to flee (from the battle).
