An-Naba'
(78/1) Of what ask they? (78/2) Of the mighty Announcement, (78/3) Concerning which they differ. (78/4) By no means! anon they shall know. (78/5) Again, by no means! anon they shall know. (78/6) Have We not made the earth an expanse. (78/7) And the mountains as stakes? (78/8) And We have created you in pairs. (78/9) And We have made your sleep as a rest. (78/10) And We have made the night a covering. (78/11) And We have made the day for seeking livelihood. (78/12) And We have builded over you seven strong heavens. (78/13) And We have set therein lamps glowing. (78/14) And We have sent down from the rain-clouds water plenteous. (78/15) So that We bring forth thereby corn and vegetation. (78/16) And gardens thick with trees. (78/17) Verily the Day of Decision is a time appointed. (78/18) It is a Day whereon the trumpet will be blown, and ye will come in multitudes. (78/19) And the heaven will have been opened, and it will have become doors. (78/20) And the mountains will have been removed away, and they will have become as mirage. (78/21) Verily the Hell is an ambuscade: (78/22) For the exorbitant a receptacle. (78/23) They will tarry therein for ages. (78/24) They will not taste therein cool or any drink. (78/25) Save scalding water and corruption. (78/26) Recompense fitted! (78/27) Verily they were wont not to look for a reckoning. (78/28) And they belied Our revelations with strong belying. (78/29) And everything We have recorded in a book. (78/30) Taste therefore. We shall not increase you in aught but torment. (78/31) Verily for the God-fearing is an achievement. (78/32) Gardens enclosed and vineyards, (78/33) And full-breasted maidens of equal age. (78/34) And a cup overflowing. (78/35) They will hear therein no babble nor falsehood: (78/36) A recompense from thy Lord-a gift sufficient - (78/37) From the Lord of the heavens and the earth and of whatsoever is in bet-ween them, the Compassionate with Whom they can demand not audience. (78/38) On the Day whereon the spirits and the angels will stand arrayed, they will not be able to speak save him whom the Compassionate giveth leave and who speaketh aright. (78/39) That is the Sure Day. Whosoever therefore willeth, let him betake Unto his Lord a resort. (78/40) Verily We! We have warned you of a torment nigh at hand, a Day whereon a man shall behold that which his hands have sent forth, and the infidel will say: would that I were dust!

An-Nazi'at
(79/1) By the angels who drag forth vehemently. (79/2) By the angels who release with gentle release. (79/3) By the angels who glide swimmingiy, (79/4) And then they speed with foremost speed. (79/5) And then they manage the affair, (79/6) A Day shall come whereon the quaking will quake, (79/7) And there will follow it the next blast. (79/8) Hearts on that Day will be throbbing; (79/9) Their looks will be downcast. (79/10) They say: shall we indeed be restored to the first state, (79/11) When we have become bones decayed! (79/12) They say: that then shall be a losing return. (79/13) It will be only one scaring shout, (79/14) And lo! they all shall appear on the surface. (79/15) Hath there come Unto thee the story of Musa! (79/16) Recall what time his Lord called Unto him in the holy vale of Tuwa. (79/17) Saying:´go thou Unto Fir´awn; verily he hath waxen exorbitant. (79/18) Then say thou: ´wouldst thou to be purified? (79/19) Then shall guide thee Unto thy Lord so that thou shalt fear. (79/20) Then he shewed him the great sign. (79/21) Yet he belied and disobeyed. (79/22) Then he turned back striving. (79/23) Then he gathered and cried aloud, (79/24) And he said: I am Your Lord, most high. (79/25) Wherefore Allah laid hold of him with the punishment of the Hereafter and of the present. (79/26) Verily herein is lesson for him who feareth. (79/27) Are ye harder to create or the heaven which He hath builded? (79/28) He hath raised the height thereof and perfected it. (79/29) And He made dark its night, and brought forth its sunshine. (79/30) And the earth!- thereafter He stretched it out. (79/31) And he brought forth therefrom its water, and its pasture. (79/32) And the mountains! - He established them firm: (79/33) A provision for you and your cattle. (79/34) Then when the Grand Calamity shall come (79/35) The Day whereon man shall rember whatsoever he had striven for. (79/36) And the Scorch will be made apparent to any one who beholdeth. (79/37) Then as for him who waxed exorbitant, (79/38) And who chose the life of the world, (79/39) Verily the Scorch! that shall be his resort. (79/40) And as for him who dreaded standing before his Lord, and restrained his soul from lust, (79/41) Verily the Garden! -that shall be his resort. (79/42) They question thee of the Hour:´when will its arrival be? (79/43) Wherein art thou concerred with the declaration thereof! (79/44) Unto thy Lord is the Knowledge of the limit fixed therefor. (79/45) Thou art but a warner Unto him who feareth. (79/46) On the Day whereon they behold it, it will appear to them as though they had not tarried save an evening or the morn thereof.

(80/1) He frowned and turned away. (80/2) Because there came Unto him a blind man. (80/3) How canst thou know, whether haply he might be cleansed, (80/4) Or be admonished, so that the admonition might have profited him? (80/5) As for him who regardeth himself self-sufficient- (80/6) Unto him thou attendest. (80/7) Whereas it is not on thee that he is not cleansed. (80/8) And as for him who cometh Unto thee running, (80/9) And he feareth´- (80/10) Him thou neglectest! (80/11) By no means! Verily it is an admonition. (80/12) So whosoever willeth-let him be admonished therewlth. (80/13) Inscribed in Writs honoured," (80/14) Exalted, Purified, (80/15) By the hands of scribes. (80/16) Honourable and virtuous. (80/17) Perish man! how ungrateful he is! (80/18) Of what thing hath He created him? (80/19) Of a drop of seed. He created him and formed him according to a measure. (80/20) Then the way He made easy. (80/21) Then He caused him to die and made him to be buried. (80/22) Then when He listeth, He shall raise him to life. (80/23) By no means He performed not that which He had commanded him. (80/24) Let man look at his food: (80/25) It is We Who pour forth water, pouring, (80/26) Thereafter We cleave the earth in clefts, (80/27) Then We cause therein the grain to grow, (80/28) And grapes and vegetables (80/29) And olives and palms (80/30) And enclosed gardens luxuriant. (80/31) And fruits and herbage: (80/32) A provision for you and for your cattle. (82/6) O man! what hath beguiled thee concerning thy Lord, the Bountiful, (82/7) Who created thee, then moulded thee, then proportioned thee? (82/8) In whatsoever form He listed He constructed thee. (82/9) By no means! Aye, ye belie the the Requital. (82/10) Verify there are for you guardians, (82/11) Honourablel scribes. (82/12) They know whatsoever ye do. (82/13) Verily the pious shall be in Delight. (82/14) And verily the ungodly shall be in a Scorch. (82/15) Roasted they shall be therein on the Day of Requital. (82/16) And thence they shall not be allowed to be absent. (82/17) And what shall make thee know whatsoever the Day of Requital is? (82/18) Again, what shall make thee know whatsoever the Day of Requital is? (82/19) It is a Day whereon no soul shall own aught of power for any soul; and the command on that Day will be Allah´s.

Al-Mutaffifin
(83/1) Woe Unto the scrimpers: (83/2) Those who, when they take by measure from mankind, exact the full, (83/3) And who, when they measure Unto them or weigh for them, diminish. (83/4) Imagine such men not that they shall be raised up? (83/5) On a mighty Day. (83/6) A Day whereon mankind shall stand before the Lord of the worlds? (83/7) By no means! Verily the record of the ungodly is in Sijjin. (83/8) And what will make thee know whatsoever the record in Sijjin is? (83/9) A record of misdeeds written. (83/10) Woe on that Day unto the belviers- (83/11) Those who belie the Day of Requital. (83/12) And none belieth it save each trespasser, sinner. (83/13) And when Our revelations are rehearsed Unto him, she saith:´fables of the ancients! (83/14) By no means!´ Aye! encrusted upon their hearts is that which they have been earning. (83/15) By no means! Verily on that Day from their Lord they will be shut Out. (83/16) Then verily they will be roasted into the Scorch. (83/17) Then it will be said: ´this is that which ye were wont to belie.´ (83/18) By no means! Verily the record of the virtuous shall be in ´Illiyun. (83/19) And what will make thee know whatsoever the record in Illiyun is? (83/20) A record of good deeds written. (83/21) To which bear witness those brought nigh. (83/22) Verily the virtuous shall be in Delight, (83/23) Reclining on couches, looking on. (83/24) Thou wilt recognize in their faces the brightness of delight. (83/25) They will be given to drink of pure wine, sealed. (83/26) The seal thereof will be of musk and to this end let the aspirers aspire - (83/27) And admixture thereof will be Water of Tasnim: (83/28) A fountain whereof will drink those brought nigh. (83/29) Veriiy those who have sinned were wont at those who had believed to laugh, (83/30) And, when they passed them, to wink at each other, (83/31) And when they returned to their household they returned jesting. (83/32) And when they saw them, they said: verily these are the strayed ones. (83/33) Whereas they were not sent over them as watchers. (83/34) Wherefore Today, those who believed at the infidels are laughing, (83/35) Reclining on couches, looking on. (83/36) The infidels have indeed been rewarded for that which they had been doing.

(84/1) When the heaven is sundered. (84/2) And it hearkeneth to its Lord, and is duteous, (84/3) And when the earth shall be stretched forth. (84/4) And shall cast forth that which is therein, and shall become empty. (84/5) And it hearkeneth to its Lord, and is duteous. (84/6) O man! verily thou art toiling toward thy Lord a painful toiling, and art about to meet Him. (84/7) Then as to him who shall be given his book in his right hand - (84/8) His account shall presently be taken by an easy reckoning. (84/9) And he shall return Unto his people joyfully. (84/10) And as to him who shall be given his book from behind his back- (84/11) He shall presently call for death, (84/12) And he shall roast into a Blaze. (84/13) Verily he was among his people joyous. (84/14) Verily he imagined that he would not be back. (84/15) Yea! his Lord had ever been beholding him. (84/16) I swear by the afterglow of sunset, (84/17) And by the night and that which it driveth together, (84/18) And by the moon when she becometh full. (84/19) Surely ye shall ride layer upon layer. (84/20) What aileth them then, that they believe not, (84/21) And that, when the Qur´an is read Unto them, they prostrate not them-selves! (84/22) Yea those who disbelieve belie. (84/23) Whereas Allah knoweth best that which they cherish. (84/24) Wherefore announce thou Unto them a torment afflictive. (84/25) But those who believe and work righteous works, theirs shall be a hire unending.

(86/5) So let man look - from what is he created. (86/6) He is created from a water drip-ping, (86/7) That issueth from between the loins and the breast-bones. (86/8) Verily He is Able to restore him, (86/9) On a Day whereon secrets shall be out. (86/10) Then he shall have no power nor any helper. (89/1) By the dawn, (89/2) And by ten nights, (89/3) And by the even and the odd, (89/4) And by the night when it departeth, (89/5) Indeed in that there is an oath for a man of sense. (89/6) Bethinkest thou not in what wise thy Lord did with the ´A´ad: (89/7) The people of many-columned lram. (89/8) The like of which was not built in the cities, (89/9) And With Thamud who hewed out rocks in the vale, (89/10) And with Fir´awn, owner of the stakes - (89/11) Who all waxed exorbitant in the cities, (89/12) And multiplied therein corruption. (89/13) Wherefore thy Lord poured on them the scourge of His torment. (89/14) Verily thy Lord is in an ambuscade, (89/15) As for man - when his Lord proveth him and so honoureth him and is bounteous Unto him, then he saith: ´my Lord hath honoured me, (89/16) And when He proveth him, and so stinteth Unto him his provision, he saith: ´my Lord hath despised me. (89/17) By no means! But ye honour not the orphan, (89/18) Nor urge upon each other the feeding of the poor, (89/19) And devour the inheritance devouring greedily, (89/20) And ye love riches with exceeding love. (89/21) By no means! when the earth shall be ground with grinding, grinding, (89/22) And thy Lord shall come and the angels, rank on rank. (89/23) And the Hell on that Day shall be brought nigh. On that Day man shall remember, but how will remembrance avail him? (89/24) He will say. ´would that I had sent before for this life of mine! (89/25) Wherefore on that Day none shall torment with His torment. (89/26) Nor shall any bind with His bond. (89/27) O thou peaceful soul! (89/28) Return Unto thine Lord well pleased and well-pleasing. (89/29) Enter thou among My righteous bondmen! (89/30) And enter thou My Garden.

(90/1) I swear by yonder city (90/2) And thou shalt be allowed in yonder city - (90/3) And by the begetter and that which he begat, (90/4) Assuredly We have created man in trouble. (90/5) Deemest he that none will overpower him? (90/6) He saith: ´I have wasted riches plenteous. (90/7) Deemest he that none beholdeth him? (90/8) Have We not, made for him two eyes (90/9) And a tongue and two lips, (90/10) And shown Unto him the two highways? (90/11) Yet he attempteth not the steep, (90/12) And what shall make thee understand that which the steep is? (90/13) It is freeing the neck, (90/14) Or, feeding, in a day of privation, (90/15) An orphan, of kin, (90/16) Or a poor man cleaving to the dust. (90/17) Then he became of those who believed and enjoined on each other steadfastness and enjoined on each other compassion. (90/18) These are the fellows of the righthand. (90/19) And those who disbelieve Our signs - they are the fellows of the lefthand. (90/20) Over them shall be Fire closing round.
