(74/18) Surely he pondered (thought about the Qur’an) and decided.
(74/19) Now he is ruined (ruined himself by being expelled from Allah’s Mercy) how he decided.
(74/20) Then he is ruined (ruined himself by being repelled from Allah’s Mercy) how he decided.
(74/21) Then he looked.
(74/22) Then he frowned and scowled.
(74/23) Then he turned his back, and turned arrogant.
(74/24) Finally he said: “This can be nothing but magic that is inherited”.
(74/25) This is nothing but the word of a human being.
(74/26) Soon I shall make him lean against (cast him into) Saqar (a blazing Fire).
(74/27) And what is it that makes you realize what Saqar (an Intense Fire) is?
(74/28) It leaves nothing back (no residue of his burnt flesh) and does not abandon (him to death) (their torment continues).
(74/29) (Saqar) is scorching for the mankind (their flesh).
(74/30) Nineteen is upon it.
(74/31) And We have not made the people (wardens) of the Fire but angels. And We have not made their number but as a mischief for those who disbelieve, that those who have been given the Book may be the owners of certainty and those who believe (who are âmenû) may increase in Faith. And those who have been given the Book and the believers may not fall into suspicion. And that those in whose hearts is a disease (suspicion) and the disbelievers may say: “What does Allah mean by this matter (what is Allah trying to say)”? This is how Allah leaves in Misguidance whom He wills and delivers to Hidayet whom He wills. And none knows the armies of your Lord but He Himself. And that is nothing else than Dhikr (Remembrance) for the mankind.
(74/32) Nay, by the moon!
(74/33) By the night when it withdraws.
(74/34) By dawn when it starts shining.
(74/35) Surely it (hell) is one of the greatest (calamities).
(74/36) As a warning to the mankind.
(74/37) To those among you who wish to go ahead or remain behind.
(74/38) All souls are held in pledge for what they have earned.
(74/39) Except the owners of the oath (those who have fulfilled their oaths).
(74/40) They are in heavens. They ask (the others).
(74/41) Amongst the sinners (the guilty).
(74/42) What has brought you into Saqar (Intense Fire)?
(74/43) They said: “We did not become of those who used to offer the Salât (prayers)”.
(74/44) And we were not feeding the needy.
(74/45) And we were plunging into vain things with those who were plunging into vain things.
(74/46) And we were belying the Day of Religion.
(74/47) Till what is certain (the moment of death) came to us.
