Al-Isra
(17/1) Glory be to Him who made His servant to go on a night from Al-Masjid–al–Harâm (the Sacred Mosque) to Al–Masjid-al–Aqsâ whose surroundings We have blessed, that We might show him of Our Verses. Surely He is All-Hearing, All–Seeing. (17/2) And We gave Moses the Book and assigned him as a person of Hidayet to the Children of Israel (saying): “Do not take a Surrogate besides Me”. (17/3) Behold! The offspring of those whom We carried along with Noah! Surely he (Noah) was a grateful servant. (17/4) And We decreed to the Children of Israel in the Book (Torah): “You will make mischief in the earth twice”. And most certainly you will be victorious with great superiority. (17/5) So when the promise for the first of the two came, We sent over you Our servants, of mighty powers. So they entered the very innermost parts of your homes and a promise was accomplished. (17/6) Then We gave you back the turn to prevail against them (in victory) and aided you with wealth and children and made you more numerous in man–power. (17/7) If you behave in the best way, it is the best for your own souls. If you behave badly, it belongs to it (your soul). So when the second (promise, that of your second mischief-making) comes, that they may darken your faces and that they may enter the Masjid as they entered it the first time, and that they might destroy whatever they gained ascendancy over with utter destruction. (17/8) It may be that your Lord will have mercy on you. And if you again return (to mischief-making) We too will return (to punishment). And We have made Hell a confinement for the disbelievers. (17/9) Surely this Qur’ân gives Hidayet (delivers to Allah) to that which is most powerful. And give glad tidings to the believers who do improving deeds (that improve the souls) that for them there is a great reward (wage). (17/10) And they are the ones who do not believe in the Hereafter (in meeting with Allah before death and in the Doomsday). We prepared for them a painful torment. (17/11) And a man prays for evil as (if) he ought to pray for good, and a man turned to be hastier. (17/12) We have made the night and the day two Signs (means) for you to know the numbering of years and the reckoning. We have made the Sign of the night (what is in it) invisible. We have made the Sign of the day (what is in it) visible, so that you may seek the Virtues from your Lord. And We have explained everything in detail (with distinctness). (17/13) And We have fastened every individual’s bird (the degrees that they have earned and lost) on their own neck. And We bring forth on the Day of Resurrection a book (the three–dimensional film played in the void). (17/14) Read your book (watch your life film)! Your own soul is sufficient as an accountant against you this Day (the results of the positive degrees and the negative degrees that show your soul should go to Heaven or Hell). (17/15) Whoever attains to Hidayet, for his own soul (as he has cleansed his soul) does he attain to Hidayet. Then whoever is in Misguidance, he remains in Misguidance, as one whose responsibility is upon himself. The bearer of a burden (sin) cannot bear the burden (sin) of another. And We never tormented (punished) until We sent a Messenger. (17/16) And when We wished to destroy a country, We sent Our Commandment to the notables (the rich who live in comfort, who lead a life of luxury). Yet they made mischief therein. Thus the Word (of Allah) is justified against them. So We destroyed it (the country and its people) with utter destruction. (17/17) And how many of the generations did We destroy after Noah within centuries! And your Lord is sufficient as an All-Knower and All-Beholder of the sins of His servants. (17/18) Whoever desires the quick passing (immediately in this world), We hasten to him there in what We will for whom We will. Then We assign him as the inmate of Hell. He gets thrown into it condemned and banished (from Mercy). (17/19) Whoever desires the Hereafter as a believer and works for it as he ought to work, surely becomes appreciated (the one who deserves the reward). (17/20) We give these to all (to those who desire for this world and to those who desire for the Hereafter). And these are from the Blessings of your Lord. The Blessings of your Lord is not confined. (17/21) See how We have made some of them to excel others, and certainly the Hereafter is greater in degrees and greater in advancement. (17/22) Do not associate with Allah any other god! Then you remain despised, forsaken. (17/23) And your Lord has decreed that you shall not serve any but Him, and that you show kindness to your parents. If either or both of them live with you, do not say to them “Ugh” nor rebuke them, and speak to them a generous word. (17/24) And lower unto them the wing of humility through mercy, and say: “My Lord! Bestow on them Your Mercy as they did bring me up”. (17/25) Your Lord knows best what is in your souls (your intention). If you become Sâlihîn (the improved ones), then He is Ever Most Forgiving to those who Evvâbîn (who turn unto Him in repentance and reach Him). (17/26) Give to the near of kin his due and to the needy (elderly who cannot work) and the wayfarer! And do not squander wastefully! (17/27) Surely the squanderers (those who waste unnecessarily for doing wrong and making mischief) became the brothers of Satan. And Satan is ever ungrateful to his Lord. (17/28) If you turn away from the needy (being compelled to it) awaiting Mercy from your Lord which you expect, then speak to them a gentle word. (17/29) And do not make your hand to be shackled to your neck (do not become stingy) nor stretch it forth to the utmost (do not waste). Otherwise you should remain blamed, stripped off of your property. (17/30) Surely your Lord enlarges (and measures) the means of sustenance for whom He wills and straitens. Surely He is ever aware of, seeing His servants. (17/31) Do not kill your children for fear of poverty! We give the sustenance. Surely to kill them is a great crime (committed deliberately). (17/32) Do not approach adultery! Surely it is an indecency and evil way. (17/33) And do not kill any soul (a person) whom Allah has forbidden, except for a just cause! Whoever is killed wrongfully (unjustly), We have indeed given to his heir the authority. So he should not exceed the just limits in killing. Surely he is aided. (17/34) Do not approach the property of an orphan except in a goodly way till he attains his the age of full strength (puberty)! And fulfill the covenant! Surely the covenant makes (you) responsible. (17/35) And give full measure when you measure out, and weigh with a true balance! This is fair and better in respect of interpretation. (17/36) And do not go after that of which you have not the knowledge (do not try to get in or explain)! Surely the hearing and the sight and the comprehension, all of these are responsible from that (Takfu). (17/37) And do not walk on the earth with arrogance! You cannot provoke (move) the earth nor reach the mountains in height (cannot be as high as mountains). (17/38) All of these evil (that cause to lose the degrees) is abominable with your Lord. (17/39) This is of what your Lord has revealed to you of the wisdom. Do not associate any other god with Allah! Otherwise you should be thrown into Hell, blamed, and rejected. (17/40) Has then your Lord preferred for you sons, and taken for Himself from among the angels daughters? Verily you indeed utter a big (an awful) saying. (17/41) We have made plain (the truths) in this Qur’ân that they may deliberate (comprehend), but it (these explanations) increased them in nothing but aversion. (17/42) Say: “If there had been other gods along with Him as they say, then certainly they would have sought out a way to (reach) the Owner of the Throne.” (17/43) Glory be to Him and exalted be He in high exaltation above what they say! (17/44) The seven heavens and the earth and those who are in them glorify Him. There is not a single thing but glorifies Him with His praise. And but you cannot comprehend their glorification. Surely He is Ever Forbearing, Oft-Forgiving. (17/45) And when you recite (read) the Qur’ân, we placed between you and those who do not believe in the Hereafter (in reaching Allah before death and the Day of Resurrection) a Hicab-ı Mesture (an invisible veil) (We put a veil on their eyes that prevent them from seeing you as a prophet). (17/46) And We have placed Ekinnet (coverings) on their hearts and a Vakra (heaviness) in their ears to prevent them from comprehending it (the Qur’ân). And when you mention your Lord Alone in the Qur’ân, they turned their backs in aversion. (17/47) We know best what they listen to and when the wrong-doers say in whispers; “you follow (depend on) only a bewitched man” as they listen to you. (17/48) See what comparisons they bring for you (they said for you: bewitched, possessed, insane, poet) and so they remained in Misguidance. So they have no power finding the way (Sıratı Mustakîm). (17/49) And they said; “What! When we shall become bones and decayed fragments (crumbled dust), shall we then certainly be raised up (resurrected) again, being a new creation?” (17/50) Say: “Become (even if you are) stones or iron”. (17/51) “Or some other creation (that you imagine greatly, strongly and forcefully) that is growing in your hearts! But then they will say: Who shall return us (to life)?” Say: “The One who created you at first!” Then they will shake their heads at you and say: “When will that be?” Say: “Perhaps it is near.” (17/52) On the Day when He will call you forth, you shall answer (Him) with His praise and you will think that you have stayed (in grave) but a little. (17/53) And say to My servants (that) they shall speak the best (of the word)! Surely Satan sows dissensions (causes mischief) among them. Surely Satan is an open enemy to human. (17/54) Your Lord knows you best. He will have mercy on you (He manifests Himself over you with His Most Merciful attribute) if He wills. And We have not sent you as a Surrogate. (17/55) And your Lord best knows all who are in the (7 levels of) heavens and the earth. Certainly We have made some of the prophets to excel others and to David We gave the Zabûr (the Psalms). (17/56) Say (to them): “Call on those whom you assumed (took as deities) besides Him.” They neither have the power to remove the harm nor shift it from you. (17/57) Those whom they call upon, themselves seek the means of access to their Lord (vying with each other as to) which of them shall be the nearest; and they hope for His Mercy and fear His torment. Surely the torment of your Lord is a thing to be feared. (17/58) And there is not a town but We will destroy it before the Day of Resurrection or torment it with a severe torment. This is written in the Book. (17/59) What hinders Us from sending a Verse (miracle) is only for the former ones to deny them (miracles). We gave to Thamûd nation the she-camel as a visible (miracle) but they did her wrong. And We do not send the Verses (miracles) but to scare. (17/60) We have told you that your Lord encompasses mankind (with His Mercy and Knowledge). We did not make the Vision which We showed you (with your heart’s eye) but a mischief (trial) for mankind and the cursed tree (the tree of Rosebay) in the Qur’ân as well. And We are scaring them. But this only adds to their great transgressions (sins). (17/61) And when We said to the angels: “Prostrate yourselves unto Adam”, they prostrated themselves except Iblîs (Lucifer). (Lucifer) said: “Shall I prostrate myself to one whom you created from clay?” (17/62) (Lucifer) said: “According to Your perspective, is this (creature) whom You have honored above me? If You delay me until the Day of Resurrection, I surely will cause his progeny to depend on me except a few.” (17/63) (Allah) said: “Leave! Whoever of them depends on you, then surely hell is your recompense as a full recompense.” (17/64) And beguile whomsoever of them you can with your voice. Steer them shouting with your cavalry and your infantry (towards hell). Be partners with them in their wealth and children. And make (false) promises to them. Satan makes promises for them only to deceive (to be arrogant). (17/65) Surely you have no authority over My servants. And your Lord is All Sufficient as a Surrogate. (17/66) Your Lord is He who drives the ships for you through the sea, in order that you may seek of His Virtue. Truly He is Ever Most Merciful towards you. (17/67) And when harm touches you upon the sea, those that you call on depart from you except He. But when He brings you safe to the land, you turn away. And man is ever ungrateful. (17/68) Do you then feel secure that He will not cause a tract of land to engulf you, or send on you a violent sand-storm with rocks? Then you shall not find a Surrogate for yourselves. (17/69) Or, do you feel secure that He will take you back into it another time, then send on you a fierce gale and thus drown you because of your disbelief? Then you shall not find any help against Us therein (from drowning). (17/70) And We have honored the Children of Adam. We carried them in the land and the sea, and We have given them as sustenance of the permissible things, and We have made them to excel by an appropriate excellence over most of those whom We have created. (17/71) On that Day We call every people with their Imam (appointed by Allah). Then whoever is given their book from the right hand side shall read their books. And they will not be wronged in the least. (17/72) And whoever is blind here (in this world), shall also be blind in the Hereafter and more astray from the Way. (17/73) And verily they were about to tempt you away from that which We have revealed to you, that you should forge against Us other than that. And then they would certainly have taken you for a close friend. (17/74) And if We had not made you stand firm, you would nearly have inclined to them a little. (17/75) In that case, We would certainly have made you to taste the pains (grieves, distresses) of the life and the death in multitudes. Then you would not have found any helper against Us. (17/76) Surely they were about to unsettle you from the land that they might expel you from it. And in that case they would not have stayed after you, except a little while. (17/77) This is also the Sunnah (Sunnetullah, rule of Allah) with regard to those of Our Messengers whom We sent before you. And you shall not find a change in Our Sunnah (rule). (17/78) Keep up the prayer from the declining of the sun till the darkness of the night. Fulfill the recitation of the Qur’ân in the early dawn. Surely the recitation of the Qur’ân in the early dawn is with a witness. (17/79) During a part of the night, wake up and keep up Teheccud (the night prayer) with It (the Qur’ân) as an additional prayer for you! It is very near that your Lord will get (deliver) you to Makâm-ı Mahmûd. (17/80) And say: “My Lord! Cause me to enter with truth and cause me to go out with truth. And grant me from your Presence (Your secret Knowledge) a Sultan to help me.” (17/81) Say: “The truth has come and the falsehood has vanished away. Surely the falsehood is ever bound to vanish.” (17/82) What We send down of the Qur’ân is a healing and a mercy for the believers. And it adds nothing but loss to the wrong–doers. (17/83) And when We bestow Blessings on man, he turns aside and becomes remote by shirking (evading). And when the evil touches him, he is in great despair. (17/84) Say: “Every one acts according to his own manner (character, personality)”. Then your Lord best knows who more on the Path of Hidayet is.” (17/85) And they ask you about the spirit (Rûh). Say: “The spirit is of my Lord’s Command.” And of the knowledge (concerning the spirit) you have been given only a little. (17/86) And if We willed, We could surely take away (erase) that which We have revealed to you. Then you would not find for it (for Us not to take away) a Surrogate (to defend you) against Us. (17/87) (This is) only a Mercy from your Lord. Surely His Virtue unto you is ever great. (17/88) Say: “If the mankind and the jinn should gather together to bring the like of this Qur’ân, they could not bring the like of it, though some of them were helpers of others.” (17/89) And certainly We have fully explained in this Qur’ân from every kind of issues (examples). Yet most people persisted only in disbelief with denial. (17/90) And they said: “We shall not believe in you until you cause a spring to gush forth from the earth for us”. (17/91) Or you should have a garden of date-palms and grapes in the midst of which you should cause the rivers to flow forth, gushing out. (17/92) Or you should cause the sky to come down upon us in pieces as you have claimed, or bring Allah and the angels before us. (17/93) Or you should have a house of gold or you should ascend up into the sky. We will not believe in your ascending until you bring down to us a book which we may read. Say: “Glory be to my Lord (He is excepted of missing attributes). Am I anything but a human Messenger?” (17/94) And nothing prevented them from believing when Hidayet came to them except that they said: “Has Allah sent a human Messenger?” (17/95) Say: “If there had been in the earth angels walking in satisfaction, We would certainly have sent down to them from the heaven an angel as a Messenger.” (17/96) Say: “Allah suffices as a Witness between me and you”. Surely He is the All-Knowing, the All-Seeing of His servants.” (17/97) And whomsoever Allah causes to reach (Himself) then he has attained to Hidayet. And whomsoever He leaves in Misguidance (whoever does not wish to reach Allah before death), you shall not find for him friends besides Him. And We will gather them on the Day of Resurrection on their faces, blind and dumb and deaf. Their abode is Hell. Whenever (the fire) becomes allayed, We shall increase for them the fierceness (of the Fire). (17/98) This is their retribution because they disbelieved in our Verses and said: “When we become bones and decayed fragments, shall we than indeed be resurrected into a new creation?” (17/99) Do they not see that Allah Who created the heavens and the earth is able to create the like of them? He has appointed for them a term about which there is no doubt. But the wrong –doers persisted in disbelief. (17/100) Say: “If you possessed the Mercy treasures of my Lord, then you would surely hold back for fear of spending (being exhausted)”. Human is much stingy. (17/101) And certainly We gave Moses nine clear Verses (miracles). Ask them to the Children of Israel. (Moses) had come to them. Then Pharaoh had said to him: “O Moses! I think you are indeed bewitched.” (17/102) He said: “Truly you know that none but the Lord of the heavens and the earth has sent down these (nine miracles) as evidence (manifestly) and surely. O Pharaoh! I do certainly believe you to be given over to perdition.” (17/103) Then he resolved to scare them away from the land (where they were), but We drowned him and all who were with him. (17/104) We said to the Children of Israel after him: “Dwell in the land!” When the promise of the Hereafter comes to pass, We shall bring you together. (17/105) And We have sent down the truth (the Qur’ân). And with the truth it has descended. We have sent you only as a bringer of glad tidings and as a Warner. (17/106) And the Qur’ân which We have divided it in parts (chapter by chapter, verse by verse). We sent it in a way so that you may read it to the people during a long period of time (by dividing it into parts so that it could be read during a long period of time). (17/107) Say: “Believe in it or do not believe in it; surely those who were given knowledge before it, when it is recited to them (the Verses of Prostration in the Qur’ân), fall down on their faces (foreheads)”. (17/108) And they say: “Glory be to our Lord! (He is excepted of all things). If our Lord has promised, (it) has been most surely fulfilled.” (17/109) And they fall down on their faces. And they weep, as their weeping increases their reverence. (17/110) Say: “Call as Allah or call as the Most Beneficent. By whatever Name you call upon Him to Him belongs all the Best Names”. Do not raise your voice in prayer nor lower it. Seek a way between these. (17/111) And say: “Praise is due to Allah Who has never taken a child and Who has no partner in the Kingdom (Sovereignty), and Who has not a helper to save Him from humiliation (as He has never been in humiliation)”. And magnify Him with all Magnificence!

Al-Kahf
(18/1) Praise is due to Allah, Who has sent down to His servant the Book (the Qur’ân) and has not made in it any crookedness. (18/2) (The Qur’ân is sent) to give the warning of severe torment from His presence and give glad tidings to the believers who do improving deeds that for them there is a goodly reward as an ever lasting (until the Day of Resurrection) book. (18/3) They are the ones who will dwell in it forever. (18/4) And (the glorious Qur’ân) warns those who say: “Allah has begotten a child.” (18/5) They have no knowledge of it (that Allah would not have begotten a child), nor had their fathers (ancestors). Too great is the word that comes out of their mouths! They utter nothing but a lie. (18/6) You will almost ruin yourself with grief, sorrowing after them, if they do not believe in this announcement (in the Qur’ân). (18/7) Surely We have made whatever is on the earth an embellishment for it, so that We may try them as to which of them is best in deeds. (18/8) And most surely We are the One who will make what is on it (the earth) a bare dry soil. (18/9) Or, did you consider that Ashabel Kehf and Rakim (the Companions of the Cave and the Inscription) were one of Our strange Verses? (18/10) When the youths sought refuge in the Cave, they said: “Our Lord! Grant us a mercy from Your Presence and appoint for us a Murshid (saint guide) in our affair (from among us, the one who will deliver us the mercy and the benediction that belong to us from your Command).” (18/11) So We caused them to lie down (to go in to a deep sleep) on their ears (so that they might hear the Dhikr of their hearts) in the Cave for a number of years. (18/12) Then We raised them up (from their sleep) that We might know (and let know) which of the two parties was best able to calculate the time for which they remained. (18/13) We relate to you their news with the truth. Surely they were youths who believed in their Lord and We increased Hidayet for them. (18/14) We established a nexus with their hearts (We connected their hearts to us). When they stood up they said: “Our Lord is the Lord of the heavens and the earth. We shall never call upon any god besides Him. For then indeed we should have said an extravagant thing as doing wrong”. (18/15) This is our nation. They have taken gods besides Him even though a clear proof (Sultan) was not sent to them. And who does more wrong than he who forges a lie against Allah? (18/16) And when you depart from them not serving anything other than Allah, seek refuge in the cave! Your Lord will extend to you His Mercy and make easy for you your affair as a support. (18/17) And you see the sun when it rose declining to the right hand from their Cave and when it set turning away from them to the left hand while they were in a wide space of it (the cave). This is of the Signs (miracles) of Allah. Whomsoever Allah causes to reach Himself he has attained to Hidayet. And Whomsoever Allah causes to remain in Misguidance (whoever does not wish to reach Allah before death), for him there is no “Walî Murshidâ” (the friend who will make him reach Irshâd). (18/18) And you would think them awake whereas they were asleep. And We turn them about to the right and to the left while their dog outstretching his two forelegs at the entrance (of the Cave). If you had looked at them (closely), you would certainly have turned back from them in flight and would certainly have been filled with terror of them. (18/19) And thus did We rouse them (woke them up) that they might question each other. A speaker from among them said: “How long have you remained?” They said: “For a day or a part of a day.” (Others) said: “Your Lord knows best how long you have remained.” Now send one of you with this silver coin of yours to the city, then let him see what food is purest there, so let him bring you provision from it and let him behave with care and gentleness and let no man know of you (and by no means make your existence known to any one). (18/20) For surely if they are victorious against you they would stone you or force you back to their religion. Then you can never have Salvation. (18/21) And thus did We notified them (dwellers of the city), that they might know that Allah’s Promise is true and that as for the Hour (Doomsday), there is no doubt about it. They were disputing among themselves about their affair. They said: “Erect an edifice over them”. Their Lord best knows them. Those who prevailed in their affair said: “We will certainly raise a Masjid over them”. (18/22) And making conjectures without knowing at what is unknown, they will say: “(They are) three, the fourth of them being their dog”. They will say: “Five, the sixth of them being their dog”. And they will say: “Seven and the eighth of them is their dog”. Say: “Allah best knows their number, none of them knows except a few”. Do not argue about them except with an obvious (known) argument! Do not inquire about them asking (to explain) one of them! (18/23) And do not say of anything: “Surely I will do it tomorrow”. (18/24) (Say: I will do it) if Allah wills. And remember your Lord when you forget and say: “I hope my Lord makes me reach a nearer (more superior) level of Irshad (immaterial maturity) than this”. (18/25) And they remained in their Cave three hundred years, and exceeded by nine. (18/26) Say: “Allah knows best how long they remained”. To Him belongs the Unseen of the heavens and the earth. He sees and hears it (the Unseen) the best. There is none to be a friend for them besides Him. He does not make any one His associate in His Judgment. (18/27) Read what has been revealed to you of the Book of your Lord! There is none who can alter His Word. And you cannot find anyone to be turned to besides Him. (18/28) And keep your soul patiently with those who call on their Lord morning and evening seeking His Face (His Essence). Let not your eyes pass from them desiring the adornments of the life of the world. Do not obey those whose heart We have made heedless of Our remembrance (Dhikr) and who follows their low desires and their affair is one in which due bounds are exceeded. (18/29) Say: “The truth is from your Lord”. So whoever wills - let him believe; and whoever wills - let him disbelieve. Surely We have prepared for the wrong-doers a Fire whose edges shall encompass them (the disbelievers) about. And if they ask for a rain (against the fire) they shall be showered with water like boiling, thick, melted brass which will scald their faces; evil is the drink and wretched friend (helper)! (18/30) Surely those who believe (those who wish to have their spirits to reach Allah before death) and do improving deeds (cleanse the souls), We do not waste the reward (merit) of those who do the best deeds. (18/31) These it is for whom are Gardens of Eden under which the rivers flow. They will be adorned therein with bracelets of gold. They shall wear green garments of fine silk and brocade, reclining therein on thrones. How excellent the reward and how beautiful a support! (18/32) Give them the example of two men. For one of them We made two gardens of grape vines and We surrounded them both with date–palms and in the midst of them We made crops. (18/33) Both these gardens produced their fruits and did not fall short thereof in anything. We caused a river to gush forth in their midst. (18/34) And he possessed much wealth (too) so he said to his friend while he conversed with him: “I am more than you in wealth and mightier in respect of men (family members). (18/35) And wronging his soul, he entered his garden. He said: “I do not think that this will ever perish”. (18/36) And I do not believe that the Hour (Doomsday) will ever come. And even if I am returned to my Lord, I will most certainly find a returning place better than this. (18/37) His friend said to him while he was conversing with him: “Do you reject (Allah) Who created you out of dust, then out of a small seed (a sperm-drop) and then fashioned you into a man”? (18/38) But as for me: ‘He, Allah is my Lord and I do not associate anyone with my Lord’. (18/39) Should you not have said, when you entered your garden: “(This vineyard is) that which Allah wills. There is no power but Allah”. Even though you consider me to be inferior to you in wealth and children. (18/40) Maybe my Lord may give me better than your garden, and send down on it (your garden) calamities from the sky, then it becomes a slippery earth. (18/41) Or the waters thereof (of the gardens) should sink down into the ground so that you have no power to have it. (18/42) His crops were ruined. The tents were fallen (on the garden). He was rubbing his hands for what he had spent on it (effort and money), and saying: “Oh, I wish I had not associated with my Lord anyone”. (18/43) And he had no one to help him besides Allah. And he was not the one who was helped. (18/44) Now here, the friendship (help) is a right due to Allah. He is the Best in (the giving of) reward and the Best for the final end (in requiting). (18/45) Give them an example of the life of the world that it is like water which We send down from the sky. The vegetation of the earth mingled (grew) with it. Then it became dry, crumbled into pieces that the wind scatters abroad. And Allah has Power over all things. (18/46) Wealth and children are the adornment of the life of this world. The lasting improving deeds (that improve the soul) are better with your Lord in reward and better in expectation. (18/47) And on that Day We will move the mountains and you see the earth clearly. And We will gather them all together and leave not out any one of them. (18/48) They (shall) be brought before your Lord, standing in ranks. Now certainly you have come to Us as We created you at first. Nay, you assumed that We would not fulfill the Promise you were given. (18/49) And the Book (the life film) is placed (exposed) in the middle. Then you see the guilty ones. Fearing from what is in it (the book), and they say: “Woe to us! What a book is this! It does not omit a small one nor a great one, but calculates them all”. And what they had done they found it exposed before them (in their life films). And your Lord does not wrong anyone. (18/50) And We had said to the angels: “Prostrate yourselves before Adam”. They prostrated themselves immediately, except Iblîs (Lucifer). He was one of the jinn. So he transgressed the Command of His Lord. Do you still then take him and his offspring for friends rather than Me, (whereas) they are your enemies? What an evil exchange (Hell) for the wrong–doers! (18/51) I did not make them (Lucifer and his offspring) witnesses of the creation of the heavens and the earth, nor of the creation of their own souls; nor I took those who leave (others) in Misguidance as helpers. (18/52) And on that Day (of Resurrection) (Allah) shall say: “Call on those whom you assumed to be My associates”. So they shall call on them, but they shall not answer them (the disbelievers), and We will set an impediment between them. (18/53) And the guilty saw the Fire (Hell). Then they considered (understood) that they are going to fall into it, and they could not find a place to which to turn away (escape) from it. (18/54) And certainly We have explained in this Qur’ân every kind of matter (examples) to mankind. And mankind has ever been, most of anything, prone to dispute. (18/55) And what prevents men from believing when Hidayet comes to them (when they are invited to Hidayet), and from asking forgiveness from their Lord, is that what happened to the ancients did not overtake them, or that the torment did not come face to face with them. (18/56) We do not send Messengers except as givers of glad tidings and as Warners. Those who disbelieve (however) dispute with false argument, in order to refute the truth, and they take My Verses and that with which they are warned for a mockery. (18/57) Who is more unjust than he who is reminded of the Verses of his Lord, then he turns away from them and forgets what his two hands have sent before (his sins)? Surely We have placed a covering (Ekinnet) over their hearts lest they should understand it and a heaviness (that hinders from hearing) in their ears. If you call them to Hidayet, even then they will never attain Hidayet. (18/58) Your Lord is the Owner of Forgiveness and Mercy. Were He to question them, He would certainly have hastened the torment for them. No, for them there is an appointed time. They shall not find a refuge with other than Him (Allah). (18/59) And these countries (population), We destroyed them when they did wrong. And We appointed a fixed time for their destruction. (18/60) And Moses had said to his young company: “I will continue my way until I reach the junction of the two seas or I will go on for years (for a long time)”. (18/61) So when they had reached the junction of the two (seas) they both forgot their fish, and it took its way into the sea. (18/62) So when they had gone further (beyond that meeting place), (Moses) said to his young company: “Bring to us our breakfast, certainly we have met with fatigue from our journey”. (18/63) (The young one) said: “Did you see when we took refuge on the rock, then I truly forgot the fish, none but Satan made me forget to remember it, and it took its way into the sea in a strange way”. (18/64) (Moses) said: “This is what we have been seeking for”. So they returned retracing their footsteps. (18/65) Then they found one of Our servants whom We had granted Mercy from Our Presence and whom We had taught knowledge from Our Secret Knowledge (Ilm-i Ledun). (18/66) Moses said to him: “May I depend on you so that you may teach me of what you have been taught from the secret knowledge in order that I may reach Rushd (the Immaterial Maturity)”. (18/67) (Khidr) said: “Surely you cannot have patience (for the events that will happen) when you are in my yolk”. (18/68) And how can you have patience for what you do not encompass in knowledge as it is not given to you? (18/69) (Moses) said: “If Allah wills, you will find me patient and I shall not rebel against you in any matter under your yolk”. (18/70) (Khidr) said: “If you depend on me, then do not question me about any thing until I myself speak to you about it”. (18/71) So they both proceeded. When they embarked the ship, he made a hole in it. (Moses) said: “Have you made a hole in it to drown its inmates? Certainly you have done a grievous thing”. (18/72) (Khidr) said: “Did I not say that you will not be able to have patience with me”? (18/73) (Moses) said: “Do not rebuke me for what I forgot and do not constrain me to a difficult thing in your commands”. (18/74) Then they both proceeded, till they met a boy and (Khidr) killed him. (Moses) said: "Have you killed a pure soul for other than (having killed) a soul? Certainly you have made an extremely evil thing (contrary to Divine Law)”.
