(8/41) And know that whatever you take as bounty of war, a fifth of it is for Allah and for the Messenger and for his near of kin and the orphans and the needy and the traveler, if you believe in Allah and in that which We sent down to our servant, on the day of Discernment (the Criterion between right and wrong, Furqân), and the day when the two forces met. And Allah has Power over all things. (8/42) You were on the near bank of the valley (on the Madîna side) and they were on the farther side (on the Makkah side), and the caravan was in a lower place than you. And if you had an agreement, you would certainly have broken away from the appointment. But that Allah might bring about a matter (order) which was to be done, that those who perished would perish upon evidence and those who lived would live upon evidence. And most surely Allah is All-Hearing, All-Knowing. (8/43) Allah showed them to you in your dream as few. And if He had shown them to you as many, you would certainly have become weak-hearted and you would have disputed about the matter. But Allah saved (you). Surely Allah is the All-Knowing of what is in the breasts. (8/44) And He showed them to you as few in your eyes, when you met them, and He made you to appear little in their eyes, in order that Allah might bring about an order which was to be done. And to Allah are all affairs (Orders) returned. (8/45) O you who believe (who are âmenû)! When you meet a party (an enemy force), then be patient and remember (repeat the Name of) Allah much, that you may have Salvation. (8/46) And obey Allah and His Messenger, and do not dispute (with one another) lest you become weak and your strength departs. Be patient, surely Allah is with the patient. (8/47) And be not like those who come forth from their homes boastfully and to be seen by people, and avert (others) from the Way of Allah. And Allah is encompassing of what they do. (8/48) And Satan had embellished their deeds. And said: “No one of the men can overcome you this day”. And verily, I am your ally (helper). But when the two parties came in sight of each other, he turned upon his two heels, and said: “Indeed, I am disassociated from you. Surely I see what you do not see. Verily I fear Allah”. And Allah is Severe in punishment. (8/49) The hypocrites and those in whose hearts was a disease were saying: “Their own religion has deceived these”. And whoever puts his trust in Allah, then surely Allah is All-Mighty, All-Wise. (8/50) And if you had seen when the angels cause to die those who disbelieve, smiting their faces and their backs and (saying): “Taste the torment of burning”. (8/51) This is because of that which your hands have put forth (What you have done on your own). And verily Allah is not ever unjust to His servants. (8/52) In the manner of the people of Pharaoh and those before them; they disbelieved in Allah’s Verses. Therefore Allah took them on account of their sins. Surely Allah is All-Strong, Severe in punishment. (8/53) This is because Allah never changes the Blessing he has bestowed on any people until they change what is with them. And verily, Allah is All-Hearing, All-Knowing. (8/54) (Their) state (the Quraish tribe that was fighting at Badr) is as the state of Pharaoh (his army) and those before them. They belied the Verses of their Lord. Therefore We destroyed them because of their sins. And We drowned the people (army) of Pharaoh. And they all became tyrants. (8/55) Surely the worst of animals (that walk) in Allah’s Sight are those who disbelieve. Then they will not believe. (8/56) They are those with whom you made a covenant, but they break their covenant every time. And they are not the owners of piety. (8/57) Therefore if you overtake them in the war, deal with them so as to strike fear in those who are behind them, that perhaps they may deliberate. (8/58) If you fear treachery (of covenant) on the part of a people, then throw back to them (cancel their covenant) on terms of equality. Surely Allah does not love the treacherous. (8/59) Let not those who disbelieve assume that they are safe. Assuredly, they cannot render (Allah) impotent. (8/60) And prepare against them what force you can and horses tethered (fed for war). Thereby you may dismay the enemy of Allah and your enemy, and others besides them. You do not know them but Allah knows them. Whatever thing you spend in the Way of Allah, it will be paid back to you fully and you shall not be wronged. (8/61) And if they incline to peace, then (you also) incline to it (accept their offer) and put your trust in Allah. Verily, He is the All-Hearing, the All-Knowing. (8/62) And if they want to deceive you, then surely Allah is All-Sufficient for you. He it is Who supports you and the believers with His help. (8/63) And He has united their hearts (with love). If you had spent all that is in the earth, you could not have united their hearts. And but Allah has united them. Certainly He is All-Mighty, All-Wise. (8/64) O Prophet! Allah is Sufficient for you and for those who have depended on you of the believers. (8/65) O Prophet! Encourage the believers to battle. If there are twenty patient ones of you, they shall overcome two hundred. And if there are a hundred of you, they shall overcome a thousand of those who disbelieve, because they are a people who do not understand. (8/66) Now, Allah has lightened for you, as He knew that in you is weakness. So if there are a hundred patient ones of you, they shall overcome two hundred, and if there are a thousand, they shall overcome two thousand by Allah’s Permission. And Allah is with the patient. (8/67) It is not (appropriate) for a Nebî (prophet) that he should take captives unless he has fought and triumphed definitely in the land. You desire the frail goods of the world, and Allah desires the Hereafter. And Allah is All-Mighty, All-Wise. (8/68) Were it nor for a Writing from Allah (Levh-i Mahfuz) that had already gone forth (in the past), surely a severe torment would have touched you for what (ransom) you took. (8/69) Eat then of the good, clean and lawful things, which you have gotten of booty in war. And have piety towards Allah. Surely Allah is Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful. (8/70) O Nebî (Prophet)! Say to those of the captives who are in your hands: “If Allah knows any good in your hearts, He will give to you better than that which has been taken away from you and He will forgive you”. And Allah is Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful. (8/71) And if they would betray you, they indeed betrayed Allah before. So He gave (you) some means against them. And Allah is All-Knowing and All-Wise. (8/72) Verily those who believed (who wished to reach Allah before death) and emigrated and struggle on the Way of Allah with their property and their souls (lives) in the Way of Allah and those who gave shelter and helped (them), these are friends of one another. And you owe no duty of protection to them until they emigrate. But if they seek your help in religion, it is your duty to help them except against a people with whom you have a covenant (a treaty). And Allah is All-Seeing of what you do. (8/73) And those who disbelieve, they are the friends to each other. If you do not do it (if you do not become friends of one another) there will be in the land Fitnah and a great mischief. (8/74) And those who believed (became âmenû, wished to reach Allah before death) and emigrated and struggle hard in the Way of Allah, as well as those who gave (them) shelter and helped, these are the true believers. For them is forgiveness and a generous sustenance. (8/75) And those who believed (became âmenû) afterwards and emigrated and struggled hard along with you (in the Way of Allah), they are of you. But kindred by blood (relatives) are nearer to one another in the Book of Allah. Verily, Allah is the All-Knowing of everything.

At-Tawbah
(9/1) This is an (a warning) exoneration from Allah and His Messenger to those of the associators with whom you made an agreement. (9/2) So go about in the land for four months and know that you cannot weaken Allah and that Allah will disgrace the disbelievers. (9/3) And a proclamation from Allah and His Messenger to all men on the day of the Greater Pilgrimage (Hacc'ul Akbar) that Allah and His Messenger are away from the associators. Therefore if you repent, it (your repenting) will be better for you, and if you turn back, then know that you will not weaken Allah. And give tidings (warning) of a painful torment to those who disbelieve. (9/4) Except those of the associators with whom you have made a treaty, then they have not failed you in anything and have not backed up any one against you. So fulfill their treaty to the end of their term. Surely Allah loves those who are the owners of piety (Takwâ). (9/5) So when the Sacred Months have passed away, then kill the associators wherever you find them, and take them captives and besiege them. And sit in every look out place (scrutinize them). Then if they repent and keep up the prayer and pay Alms (the Zakât), let them on their way. Surely Allah is Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful. (9/6) And if one of the associators seeks help from you, grant him protection till he hears the Word of Allah. Then deliver him to his place of safety. This is because they are a people who do not know. (9/7) How can there be a covenant with Allah and with His Messenger for the associators? Except those with whom you made a covenant near Mescid-i Haram? So as long as they are true to you (if they fulfill their covenant), be true to them (fulfill your covenant). Surely Allah loves the owners of piety (Takwâ). (9/8) How can there be (such a covenant with them)? If they gain force against you (if they back up each other), they would not respect ties of kinship or covenant with you (the rights you have on account of your covenant) they please you with their tongues while their hearts are averse to you, and most of them are Fâsiqûn (those who are not in the Way of Allah or have gone out of it). (9/9) They have sold the Verses of Allah for a trifling price. So they hindered (others) from His Way (they prevented others from Sıratı Mustakîm). Evil indeed is that which they used to do. (9/10) They do not respect either kinship (ties of relationship) nor covenant towards the believers (they do not pay back the believers). It is they who are the transgressors. (9/11) Yet if they repent (before the Messenger by wishing to reach Allah before death) and keep up the prayer and pay Alms (the Zakât), then they are your brethren in religion. And We explain the Verses in detail for a people who know. (9/12) And if they break their oaths after their covenant and revile your religion, then fight the leaders of disbelief. Surely they have (indeed) no oaths so that they may desist. (9/13) Will you not fight a people who broke their oaths? And they aimed at the expulsion of the Prophet (from his home) and they attacked you first. Do you fear them? But Allah is most deserving that you should fear Him, if you are believers. (9/14) Fight against them. Allah torments them by your hands and disgraces them. And assist you against them (give you victory over them). And heals the breasts of a believing people. (9/15) And removes the rage from their hearts and Allah accepts the repentance of whom He wills. And Allah is All-Knowing, All-Wise. (9/16) Did you think that you would be left alone while Allah has known those of you who have striven hard and have not taken any one as an adherent besides Allah and His Messenger and the believers? And Allah is Well-Acquainted with what you do. (9/17) It is not for the associators to build the mosques of Allah while bearing witness to disbelief against themselves (their own souls). As for such, their deeds are in vain. And in the Fire they shall abide forever. (9/18) None should build the mosques of Allah except those who believe in Allah and the latter day (to have the spirit return back to Allah before death) and keep up the prayer and pay Alms (the Zakât) and fear none but Allah. So as for these, it may be that they are of those who have attained to Guidance (Hidayet). (9/19) Have you made the providing of water for the pilgrim and the building of Al-Masjid Al-Haram equal to one who believes in Allah and the Last Day and strives in the cause of Allah? They are not equal in the presence of Allah. And Allah does not guide the unjust people (and Allah does not make the unjust people attain Hidayet). (9/20) Those who believed and emigrated and strove hard in Allah’s Way with their property and their souls, are much higher in rank with Allah. And those are they who are in Salvation. (9/21) Their Lord gives them glad tidings of Mercy from Him, and being pleased (with them) and of Paradise for them wherein are everlasting Blessings. (9/22) Abiding therein forever. Verily, with Allah is a Great Reward (a Great Wage, Ecrun Azîm). (9/23) O you who believe (who are âmenû)! Do not take your fathers and brothers for friends if they prefer disbelief to Belief. Whoever of you takes them for friends; these it is that are the wrong-doers. (9/24) Say: “If your fathers and your sons and your brothers and your mates and your kinsfolk and property which you have acquired, and the slackness of trade which you fear and dwellings in which you delight are dearer to you than Allah and His Messenger and striving hard in His Way, then wait till Allah brings about His Command”. And Allah does not guide the transgressing people to attain Guidance (Hidayet). (9/25) Allah has already helped you on many battlefields and on the day of Hunain. You rejoiced at your great numbers, but they availed you nothing. The earth became strait to you in spite of its spaciousness. Then you turned to your back again. (9/26) Then Allah did send down His Sakînah (calmness, tranquility and reassurance) upon His Messenger and upon the believers. And sent down an army which you could not see and tormented those who disbelieved. And that is the punishment of the disbelievers. (9/27) Then after that, Allah accepts the repentance of whom He wills. And Allah is Oft-Forgiving (the One who converts evil deeds into merits), Most Merciful (the One who sends down the light of Mercy). (9/28) O you who believe (who wish to reach Allah before death)! The associators are nothing but filth (impure). Let them not approach Mescid-i Haram (the Sacred Mosque) after this year. If you fear poverty, Allah will enrich you if He wills, out of His Virtue. Surely, Allah is All-Knowing, All-Wise. (9/29) Fight those who do not believe in Allah or in the Last Day (in reaching Allah before death) and who do not consider unlawful what Allah and His Messenger have made unlawful and who do not adopt the religion of truth from those who were given the Scripture until they give the Jizyah (tax) willingly while they are humbled. (9/30) And the Jews said: “Uzair (Ezra) is the son of Allah”, and the Christians said: “Messiah is the son of Allah”. The words of their mouths imitate the saying of those who disbelieved before. May Allah destroy them. How they are turned away! (9/31) They have taken their Ahbar (Jewish clergy) and their Ruhban (priests) for lords besides Allah and (also) the Messiah, son of Mary. They were enjoined that they should be the servants to one God only. There is no god but He. Far from His Glory be what they associate (with Him). (9/32) They want to put out the Light of Allah with their mouths. And Allah does not want anything but to complete His Light, even though the disbelievers detest. (9/33) It is He Who sends His Messenger with Guidance and the Religion of truth, that He might cause it (this Religion) to prevail over all religions (that this is the true religion), though the associators may detest. (9/34) O you who believe (who wish to reach Allah before death)! Indeed many of the Ahbar (Rabbis) and the Ruhban (Priests) devour the property of the people in falsehood, and hinder them from the Way of Allah. And those who hoard up gold and silver and do not spend it in the Way of Allah, give tidings unto them of a painful torment. (9/35) On the Day when (iron) shall be heated in the Fire of Hell, then their foreheads and their sides and their backs shall be branded with it. This is what you hoarded up for yourselves (your own souls) therefore taste what you used to hoard. (9/36) Indeed, the number of months with Allah is twelve months in the Book of Allah the day He created the heavens and the earth, of these four being sacred. This is the lasting religion (that will continue from the Pre-eternity till the Post-Eternity). Therefore do not wrong your own souls therein. Fight with the associators altogether just as they themselves fight against you altogether. And know that Allah is with the owners of piety (Takwâ). (9/37) Leaving (postponing) (of the sacred months) is only an addition in disbelief. With it those who disbelieve are led astray. They make it (the postponed month) lawful one year and forbid it (the postponed month) another year in order to adjust the number (of the sacred) months that Allah has forbidden and make such forbidden ones lawful. The evil of their deeds is made fair-seeming to them. And Allah does not cause the disbelieving people to attain Guidance (Hidayet). (9/38) O you who believe (who wish to reach Allah before death)! What is the matter with you that when you are asked to go forth to struggle (struggling against your souls to render your spirit to Allah) (struggle against the disbelievers and your enemies) in the Way of Allah you cling (your spirit still did not start to its journey towards Allah) (you did not join the Islamic army to fight) heavily to the earth? Are you pleased with the life of this world rather than (rendering your spirit) the Hereafter? But little is the offering (provision, comfort) of this world as compared to (rendering the spirit back to Allah) the Hereafter. (9/39) If you do not march forth (having your spirit get on the Sirat-i Mustakim to reach Allah) (voluntarily go to war), He will torment you with a painful torment and will replace you by another people. You cannot harm Him at all in any way, and Allah has Power over all things. (9/40) If you do not help him (when you did not help him), Allah did help him (Rasul). When the disbelievers expelled him (when the disbelievers forced him to go out of Makkah) he was the second of the two, when they were both in the cave. When they were in the cave, he said to his companion: “Do not grieve, surely Allah is with us”. Then Allah sent down His Sakînah (calmness, tranquility) upon him and strengthened him with armies which you could not see. He (Allah) made lowest the word of those who disbelieved. And the Word of Allah, that is the highest and Allah is All-Mighty, All-Wise. (9/41) Go forth light and heavy (as cavalries and infantries) and strive hard in Allah’s Way with your property and your lives. This is better for you, if you know. (9/42) Had it been a near gain (booty in front of them) and an easy journey, they would have followed you, but the distance seemed too far to them. They shall swear by Allah: “If we had been able, we would surely have come forth with you”. They destroy themselves (their souls), and Allah knows that they are most surely liars. (9/43) Allah pardoned you! Why did you (not wait and) give them leave until those who are loyal had become manifest to you and you had known the liars? (9/44) Those who believe in Allah and the latter day (in reaching Allah before death) do not ask leave of you from striving hard with their property and their lives. And Allah knows the owners of piety. (9/45) Only those would ask permission of you who do not believe in Allah and the Last Day and whose hearts have doubted. So in their doubt do they waver. (9/46) And if they had wished to go forth, they would surely have made some preparation for it (war), but Allah disliked their state. So He held them back and it was said to them: Sit with those who stay behind. (9/47) Had they gone forth with you, they would have added nothing except disorder. They would have been active among you, seeking you Fitnah, and among you. There are those who would listen to them, and Allah knows the wrong-doers. (9/48) Indeed they had plotted sedition (Fitnah) before and upset matters for you until the truth came. And Allah’s Commandment prevailed although they hated it. (9/49) And one of them says: “Give me leave and do not push me to sedition”. Surely, they have fallen into sedition, have they not? And indeed, Hell is encompassing the disbelievers. (9/50) If good befalls you, it grieves them, and if a disaster befalls you, they say: “We took indeed our precautions beforehand, and they turn back while they are rejoicing”. (9/51) Say: “Nothing befalls us except that which Allah has written for us. He is our Friend (Maulâ)”. And in Him let the believers put their trust. (9/52) Say: Do you wait for us except one of the two best things? And we (too) await for you that Allah will afflict you with punishment from Himself or at our hands. So you wait (too). We too are waiting with you. (9/53) Say: “Spend willingly or unwillingly, it shall not be accepted from you”; surely you have been a Fâsikun (transgressing) people. (9/54) And what prevents their expenditures from being accepted from them but that they have disbelieved in Allah and in His Messenger and that they come not to prayer except while they are lazy and that they do not spend except while they are unwilling. (9/55) Let not then their property and their children impress you. Allah only wishes to torment them with these in this world’s life and that their souls to depart while they are disbelievers. (9/56) They swear by Allah that they are most surely of you, and they are not of you. They are a people who are sissy. (9/57) If they could find a shelter or caves or a place to enter into, they would certainly have turned thereto, running away in all haste. (9/58) And of them there are those who criticize you with respect to the alms. So if they are given from it (from alms, booty) they are pleased, and if they are not given from it, behold, they are full of rage. (9/59) And if they had been content with what Allah and His Messenger gave them (of booty), they would have said: “Allah is Sufficient for us; Allah will give us of His Virtue, and (so will) His Messenger”. Surely, we are desirous toward Allah. (9/60) Zakat is for the poor and for the needy and for those employed to collect (Zakat). And for those whose hearts will be brought together (for Islam) and for slaves and for those in debt and for (those) on the Way of Allah and for the travelers - an obligation by Allah. And Allah is All-Knowing, All-Wise. (9/61) There are some of them who persecute the Prophet say: “He is (like) an ear (he listens to everything told and believes it)”. Say: “He is an ear of goodness for you (He hears what you say, accepts it; he is an ear of goodness because he does not deny you and not because he does not know it)”. He believes in Allah and has faith in the believers. And he is a mercy for those of you who believe (who are âmenû). For those who persecute the Messenger of Allah (those who say improper words to him, who criticize him) there is a painful torment. (9/62) They swear by Allah in order to please you, and Allah and His Messenger are more worthy for them to please, if they should be believers. (9/63) Do they not know that whoever exceeds the limits against Allah and His Messenger, certainly for him will be the Fire of Hell to abide therein forever? That is the great abasement. (9/64) The hypocrites fear lest a chapter (Surah) should be sent down to them telling them plainly of what is in their hearts. Say: “Go on mocking, surely Allah will bring forth what you fear”. (9/65) And if you should question them, they would certainly say: “We were only idly discoursing and joking”. Say: “Is it Allah and His Verses and His Messenger that you were mocking”? (9/66) Do not invent excuses. You have indeed disbelieved after your belief. If We pardon a party of you; We will torment (another) party because they are guilty. (9/67) The hypocrite men and hypocrite women are of one another. They enjoin Al-Munkar (evil) and forbid from All-Ma’rûf (good) and withhold their hands (they act niggardly). They have forgotten Allah, so He has forgotten them. Indeed the hypocrites are Al-Fâsiqûn. (9/68) Allah has promised the hypocrite men and hypocrite women and the disbelievers the fire of Hell to abide therein forever. It (hell) is enough for them. And Allah has cursed them and for them there is a lasting torment. (9/69) You are like those before you. They were stronger than you in power and more abundant in wealth and children. So they enjoyed their portion; thus have you enjoyed your portion as those before you enjoyed their portion. And you have engaged (in worldly things) like that in which they engaged. These are they whose deeds are in vain. These are they who are the losers. (9/70) Has not the news of those before them come to them; of the people of Noah (Nûh), ‘Âd, and Thamûd, the people of Abraham, the dwellers of Madyan and the overturned cities. Their Messengers came to them with the clear proofs. So it was not Allah Who wronged them, but they used to wrong themselves. (9/71) And the believing men and the believing women, they are friends of each other. They enjoin Al-Ma’rûf and forbid from Al-Munkar and keep up the prayer and give alms (the Zakât) and obey Allah and His Messenger. These, Allah will show mercy to them. Surely Allah is All-Mighty, All-Wise. (9/72) Allah has promised to the believing men and the believing women Heavens under which the rivers flow to abide in them forever. Good and clean mansions in Gardens of Adn. The greatest (of all these) is a Pleasure of Allah. That is the greatest Salvation. (9/73) O Nebî (Prophet)! Strive hard against the disbelievers and the hypocrites, and be unyielding to them. And their abode is Hell, and evil is the destination. (9/74) They swear by Allah that they said nothing, and certainly they did say the word of disbelief and did disbelieve after their Islam and they had resolved to do that which they have not been able to reach and what they wanted to avenge was only this, that Allah and His Messenger enriched them out of His Virtue. Then if they repent, it will be better for them; and if they turn back (from faith), Allah will torment them with a painful torment in this world and in the Hereafter. And there is none for them on earth as a friend or a helper. (9/75) And there are those of them who made a covenant with Allah: “If He gives us out of His Virtue, we will certainly give alms and we will certainly be of the Sâlihîn (improved ones)”. (9/76) But when He gave them out of His Virtue, they became niggardly of it (of what He gave them) and they turned away (from their covenant) and they withdrew. (9/77) So He penalized them with hypocrisy in their hearts until the Day they will meet Him - because they failed Allah in what they promised Him and because they used to lie. (9/78) Do they not know that Allah knows their secrets and their secret counsels? And Allah is the All-Knowing of the Unseen. (9/79) They criticize the contributors among the believers concerning charities and the ones who find nothing except their effort, and scoff at them. Allah paid them back their scoffing, and for them there shall be a painful torment. (9/80) Ask forgiveness for them or do not ask forgiveness for them. Even if you ask forgiveness for them seventy times, Allah will not forgive them. This is because they disbelieve in Allah and His Messenger. And Allah does not deliver the transgressing people to Hidayet (Guidance). (9/81) Those who stayed behind (disbelievers) rejoiced at their staying and sitting opposing the Messenger of Allah. They were averse from striving and fighting in the Way of Allah with their property and their souls (lives). And said: “Do not go to war in the heat”. Say: “The Fire of Hell is more intense in heat”. If only they could understand! (9/82) So let them laugh a little and cry much as a recompense of what they used to earn. (9/83) Therefore if Allah brings you back to a party of them (disbelievers), and then ask your permission to go forth, say: “By no means shall you ever go forth with me and by no means shall you fight an enemy with me; surely you were pleased to sit still the first time, therefore sit still with those who remained behind”. (9/84) Never offer prayer for any of them who dies, and do not stand by his grave. Because they disbelieved in Allah and His Messenger, and died while they were Fâsiqûn (they were not in the Way of Allah). (9/85) And let not their property and their children impress you. Allah only wishes to torment them with these (property and children) in this world and their souls to depart while they are disbelievers. (9/86) And when a Surah was revealed (enjoining them) to believe in Allah (to wish to reach Allah before death) and to fight along with His Messenger, those of wealth among them asked your permission and said, “Leave us to be with those who sit”. (9/87) They were content to be with those who sit behind, and their hearts are sealed up. So they no longer understand. (9/88) But the Messenger and those who believed (were âmenû) strove hard and fought with their property and their souls (lives). And these it is who shall have the good things and these it is who shall have Salvation. (9/89) Allah has prepared for them Heavens under which the rivers flow, to abide in them forever. That is Fevz-ül Azîm (the Greatest Achievement, the Greatest Salvation). (9/90) And those with excuses among the Bedouins came to be permitted, and they who had lied to Allah and His Messenger sat (behind). A painful torment will befall those of them who disbelieved. (9/91) There is no blame on those who are weak or ill or who find no resources to spend, if they advise (and remain true to their advise) for Allah and His Messenger. There is no way upon (against) the Muhsinîn (good-doers). And Allah is Oft-Forgiving (the One Who changes evil deeds into merits), Most Merciful (the One Who sends the light of mercy). (9/92) Nor (is there any blame) on those who came to you that you might carry them, when you said: “I cannot find that on which to carry you”; they went back while their eyes overflowed with tears, grieving that they could not find that which they should spend. (9/93) The way (the sin) is only against those who ask permission of you though they are rich. They are content to be with those who remained behind. And Allah has sealed up their hearts, so they no longer know.
